So I just tried the hot towel in the microwave thing... DO NOT use coloured towels, they'll ring out coloured water :lol:
I was using a cheap red primark hand towel, after ringing out the hot water I was shocked to see streaks of red water flow out.
Immediately I had pictures of claret running down my face

I've been using the hot towel quite a bit, but not for shaving, I use it when serving shellfish for dinner.
The trick is putting them in water, wring them, but not too much, and roll them up tightly! (I use a bit of lemon juice in the water)
Put in a dish, they should stay warm quite a bit, but 2 min is too much for me. (1 min does it here)
The rolling them up keeps them warm.
Another good use for this trick is sterilising kitchen sponges (they're really full of bacteria)
Put a wet/damp kitchen sponge in the microwave for 30s and you've killed everything on it.
(repeat daily)
I'll take some pics of this trick tomorrow if you guys want.
