I'm open to education here.... but I wouldn't have thought it illegal unless you're selling it but pretending it's a real one with a view to deceiving people?

I've seen the CW ones around - although I think I still prefer the Time Factors ones (in fact, I'd rather have one of those than any of the big Swiss jobbies).
This has been an interesting and informative thread - rather wish I'd posted here before buying the watch!
Is there anything The Shaving Room doesn't know?! I had (and maybe even given) some great advice over the last 18mnths or so - thanks one and all.

There are absolutely tons of genuinely good watch makers at the lower end of the market, also giving you swiss made watches with ETA automatic movements and great looks, without the blatant "fake" stigma.
I have two Christopher Ward watches:
a C60 diver:
and a C5 aviator:
Both of these have a superb premium feel, the aviators facework and detailing is utterly superb, and the diver feels as solid and well put together as any of its bigger brothers from Hamilton, Longines and Omega.
Steinhart are another brand worth looking at, producing watches that are a homage to rolex's without wearing the faulex badge:
my point.... well my point is that its easy enough to be into watches and get the same look as the big boys, without trying to pretend that you own one of them. I wear these watches with pride, knowing not one of them cost me more than £300

At the moment I am looking at a Swiss Army watch in the same price range (340 Euros plus P&P)
