Hats off to Canada too for being runners-up. SWMBO and I couldn't lose in this final having our feet in both worlds. Too bad Canada's men's team couldn't be more competitive.

Is it wrong that I watched the full game purely on the off chance of catching a glimpse of accidental 'flappage' (like the only reason any bloke watches Syncronised Swimming) ?

Well with those long shorts underneath their playing shorts, the flap would need to be like John Wayne's saddle bag to get a glimpse.

Pleased & proud that head Coach Gary Street is school friend of mine and that another coach - Graham Smith - is ex-Moseley.

Make no bones about it - these girls are athletic and talented. Maggie Alphonsi is one serious force of nature and not to be messed with.

I find it ironic that Rugby Union, so often called elitist and aloof, is in the vanguard with regard to the women's team who represent England. Stuart Lancaster was at the game yesterday and has involved the coaches in his training camps. I am not sure that would happen in the "people's game".

Anyway - we don't have too many World Champions, so should let's make the most of it.
