EDT?

Eau de toilette

Eau de cologne

Normal service will resume when the hangover has cleared… This not drinking thing is rubbish when you finally have a drink. I never got hangovers when I drank.

Grrr… Christmas drinks. :D

I've worked out most of the abbreviations and acronyms - but what's EDT please? (also just seen EDC).

EDT - Eau de Toilette
EDC - Eau de Cologne

Basically stronger, more longer lasting versions of Aftershave (AS) but with added colours and other things that are not particularly recommended to put on your face straight after shaving as it will result in a hideous burn (far more than just tingling!) - for that I would stick to AS or Aftershave Balm

Hope this helps

The definition of EDC and EDT is somewhat blurred but they both have a higher concentration of perfume oil compared to aftershave so are not suitable as after shaves just scent carriers.

Not to worry, for sure 50 others didn't know either.

I was just about to mention that you had written an excellent post on this subject.

Hi there,

When first starting this goofy shaving 'hobby', I had no interest in wearing any sorta fragrances. I also had no idea what those things like EdT and parfum and extrait and cologne meant. That's changed over the years though, and I seem to have picked up a bad case of another AD. Sigh, the ladies at The Perfumed Court know me pretty well by now.

You might like to look over at http://www.basenotes.com sometime for more info on what this whole fragrance thing is about. Lots of good stuff in the forum.
