As you can see the link is too large. If you google the site just look for the contact us page.

This is all very strange - when I looked at my first response there was a message saying that the attachment was too large - however it seems to have worked.

damn and blast Rob

Shucks, I think that's my first enablement. A really nice razor though so make sure you post an SOTD.

falling for it and being able to afford to buy it are two different things (especially at this time of year) but i got my eye on it though.............:-/

The Revisor is the only 'modern' razor that I have found to be 'shave-ready' upon delivery and this includes those from TI and Dovo

I have a 6/8ths Revisor and it is outstanding. I usually go for vintage razors, but this is the exception.

Besides, some Revisor models are NOS - especially the Schulze models

I would buy a Wacker over a revisior.

Can I ask why?

Well there's nothing negative I could say regarding the Revisior as they are a nice looking and well made razor, but having seen both brands close up so to speak what I can say about a Wacker is the quality and finish of both the scales and blade are outstanding, they are a little bit more pricey than the Revisior but I believe they are worth it.

...especially so if you order from the US site linked to and you get hit with customs and import duty plus the outrageous so-called 'handling fee' they have the nerve to lump on top of the other charges!

You can do away with the risk of paying extra to HM Customs & Excise by ordering (a limited selection) from some well-regarded european dealers, or better still go directly to the Wacker site for the full range.

Heribert Wacker is little short of a living legend, and a few of his designs are very appealing to me, personally, such as Jamies model and the barbers bride model.

However, given that we are well and truly OTT as Nick has already ordered a very good razor at a very good price, I would go for a piece by another living legend - the fabulously creative Mastro Livi.

Regards,
Neil

I ordered directly from the Wacker site a couple of years ago - it's not easy but if you use google translate it's the best option as Neil points out by avoiding import duty.

Have to agree with the comments about quality - I have the Chevalier and it really is top notch.

Maybe the Mastro could be a retirement present? Will have to float that one by the wife.

If you use Google Chrome browser, when you first load the page it will ask you if you'd like it to translate the page to English. Superb feature and works a treat.

Brand new sealed in the pack vintage Filarmonica Novodur 14 on eBay at the moment. Buy it now @ £466, in my very Filarmonica biased opinion...the best razor ever produced (well maybe the EPBD) and cheap compared to some Livi's ;)

Do you have the link/item no. to the Filly as clicking the above link doesn't work.
However expensive a Mastro Livi might be, it's totally worth it. I recently went to Perugia and spent 2 days with the great artisan himself and came away with not one but 2 fabulous razors. One totally custom designed by me.

As much as I love my vintage razors and I have a few (Filly's, W&B, Dorko's and a DD) I find myself enjoying the fit and feel of my custom Livi razor.

BTW, I've also admired the Wacker's too. 7/8 Wacker
