Dealing With Junk Mail

When rubbish junk mail comes through my letterbox now, I save it all up for about three months, then when I have a nice pile collected, I send it all back to the next one that comes, using their own envelope. I just mark return to sender on the package so I don't even pay for the postage. I've just sent about 200 assorted leaflets to Readers Digest. :lol:

I write "Since you send out unwanted mail I thought I'd share this with you" & pop one set of junk stuff in to another ones envelope. Then just post them irrespective of whether they are reply paid or not.

Alot of "junk" mail is delivered by Royal Mail so contact your local office and tell them you want to opt out.

<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/content1?catId=400126&mediaId=500081" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/cont ... aId=500081</a><!-- m -->

Also contact MPS. <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mpsonline.org.uk/mpsr/</a><!-- m -->

You should see a natural decline.

You should see a natural decline, I did.

Good advice from Tony, i joined both the mail and telephone preference service, does not stop it all but it really does help stop the junk mail and sales calls.

Old telephone books are ideal for bulking up the weight when you return lots of junk mail to one lucky junk mailing company.

I've taken great satisfaction in doing that a few times now - I imagine they're none to pleased at the return 'freepost' postage they end up paying for it :lol:

Yep, mail preference service really does seem to reduce the volume dramatically. Not nearly as much fun as the other suggestions so far, though.

Oh I do the MPS thing too, this is for the "cream of the crap" that still do it in spite of the MPS and not having a business relationship with them that allows them to dodge around the MPS... yes BT I do mean you.
