No matter how many times I see this simple card trick, it stills amuses me. Still can't figure out how it's done.

Yes, I'm not always the sharpest blade in the sampler pack :( The first time I saw the bracketed numbers next to blade makes on SOTD, I thought they were marks out of ten or something :? (And I still marvel at pop-up books!)
 
I was very interested in conjuring when I was at school, and know the way things tend to be done.

Misdirection and making you think one thing when its something else are the tools of the trade. Rarely is it something any more technical than making you focus on one thing so that you don't notice other things changing.

And yes the family hate watching magic shows with me :lol:
 
someone bought me a Paul Daniels magic rope trick for a birthday once.Magic rope woooo, the trick was to cut the rope and then it magically repairs.I however did not read the instructions and promptly cut the thing in half.Turned out you were supposed to practice slight of hand and only 'pretend' to cut the rope :oops: .That was binned pretty quick lol
