Anyone for Intelivision? I remember Tanks ... quite an advanced game, I think for the end of the '70s. I recall having a play at my ex-wife's family home. It did Pong, too.

Your ex-wife ponged? Best shot of her then

Cannon Fodder, Monkey Island, Champ Manager and Sensible Soccer are the ones I remember most fondly for the A500. Also, R-Type, on the Spectrum.

Ha!

I teach in a secondary school and in the run up to Christmas all the boys were talking about the new Xbox and the new PlayStation. I used the opportunity to reminisce about my Amiga 600 playing childhood!

I was explaining to them how Fifa 20whatever could never be better than Sensible soccer, and Grand Theft Auto no better than Dizzy! They didn't believe me so, I had a look online to see if I could find any working versions available to play online and prove it. Anyway, it just so happens that loads of people still love to play 'Sensi' and in fact they hold an annual tournament!

Have a look here: (you can even download a current update team pack for an old port of the game - yay!)

The boys have had a short game and they now seem wee bit uncertain of the status of Fifa football, I've even offered to play them in a lunchtime tourney where I am sure they will be converted!

As for Dizzy, the thought of getting 5 hours into a game then dying and having to restart, sounded terrifying to them!
