Cleaning a brush

Hi guys my brush is beginning to smell I little funky now and looks as if it needs a good clean. What is the best way to clean a brush? and how often should this be carried out?

Soak in a part spirit vinegar solution to remove soap residue then shampoo it like your bonce.

What dilution of vinegar would ypu suggest?

Vinegar is good so is Dawn dish soap. The soap they get oil off of wild birds. I use a weak solution in warm water. Does well.

about 9 parts water to 1 vinegar

What bristles? Synthetic brushes usually need shampoo, but badger needs Borax substitute apparently.
