She's not at the moment ....but may be by the time! The way these British are obsessed with old "bespoke" stuff you'd think they're all screwin' 80 yr. old + women!!
Did you find it to be thin and foamy? I've experimented a bit and found out how I can achieve vastly different results. One extreme I experienced was like the foam you get if you use loads of washing up liquid in a sink - no substance to it, just a load of foamy bubbles. I managed this with a lickimat dog bowl (I know you have one). I also got a thin and foamy result when palm lathering by scrubbing the brush around in circles in much that same way many do when face lathering.Another less than stellar shave. I did start really dry but even after working it for ages on my face it dissipated quite quick. Then again I was arguing with my girlfriend about woman stuff. Note to self do not take calls from women while you have a blade to your neck. More carnage.

That's good to know. Is there a tendency for MWF to be foamy then?I found hard water controlled the foaminess better than soft water.
Only if your brush is too wet to start with ... in which case you just load and load and load until the lather dies off. Same with many triple milled British hard soaps. Softer water just exacerbates the problem if that happens. That's good to know. Is there a tendency for MWF to be foamy then?
What's cookin Big G,It’s Kent/MWF and it came from me. That potentially means I have another three duds here. Great. I should change the thread title to, ‘Sod it and buy Salter Instead.’ Or ‘What Price Proraso?’
Tis a shame, I've been lucky to have never come across a bad batch but if I had I would probably feel the way you do now.In my opinion after trying to shave with MWF (in Kent guise) batch no: 8923 is poor. Thin, wispy, dissipating lather regardless of my efforts. I’ve used up almost two cakes in my time and never had an issue but my faith is lost. I cannot afford to spend £26 on shaving soap for it to be crap. Back to Salter for me, alas.

What do I do with three duff cakes? They’re not likely to take them back are they?Tis a shame, I've been lucky to have never come across a bad batch but if I had I would probably feel the way you do now.
Paul.

Personally, I feel they should be replaced by either Kent or MWF and unless they do so. I’m done with them forever.
I started this thread as a celebration of what I formerly considered to be one of the best shaving soaps regardless of price and certainly the best value considering how hard it is to finish a cake. It just lasts and lasts.
Fat no more?
Whether you choose to buy more MWF after this debacle is up to you, but I'd suggest to make the most out of the cakes you're lumbered with you could add a drop of glycerin. It might give a bit more substance to the lather. What do I do with three duff cakes? They’re not likely to take them back are they?
