Brushless Shaving Cream

Hi All,

Have been lurking for a while and decided to get involved.

I normally enjoy a 'full wet shave' with trad cream, badger brush and bowl, but limit this to weekends as I am usually in too much of a rush Mon - Fri.

For the daily shave at 7.00am it is more conveniant to just use a 'brushless cream' and I have been using stuff like Real Shave and Erasmic because they are easy to get a hold of. However, they are pretty average and the 'male' fragrance is getting a bit boring.

Any suggestions on some 'different' brushless shaving creams?

Every Man Jack Sensitive is nice. Any of the Kiss My Face creams can be used brushless, they have a large variety of scents and if you like them they can also be used with a brush (just like Erasmic and Real Shave Co.).

Here are some links to UK based vendors for Kiss My Face and Every Man Jack:

I've used the Kyoku brushless cream, and can highly recommend it. It has a really nice minty smell and gives a great shave.

Its this one http://kyokuformen.com/products/sake-infused-shave-cream-normal-skin

P.S I have a spare tub which is not being used, it has about 40%-50% left. If you have anything not being used we can swap ?

Truefitt & Hill No.10 Authentic can apparently be used brushless. You can pick it up in Sainsburys for £8 a pot. I stocked up on it when it was 1/3 off as an introductory offer and it is good stuff though I always use a brush with it.

Jabberwock.

Not sure I have seen those suggested. I live in the UK and maybe not available here.

Thanks for the reply.

Ok, Thanks. Will take a look at those

Avalon Organics does a not too bad brushless cream. You could also try some shaving oils (Crew, Village Bargeb).

Helveticum,

Thanks, will look online for them.

Tonka,

Yeah, I've seen that around. Didn't appreciate it was brushless. Will take a look again, though it seems expensive.

Will pass on the swap thanks.

Must admit my Sainsbury's doesn't sell that sort of Shave Cream. Will take a look again though.

Thanks

They only started stocking it recently. Might only be larger stores but certainly the one in Hastings has plenty on the shelf.

I'd agree with HM, you don't save more than 10 min with the brushless stuff (in fact less than that if you just go DFS), but experience is simply ruined.

Speaking of fast shaves.. If you want to save some time, you need a product that lathers very easily and quickly and gives a slick lather, and a brush that can enhance that action. My suggestions are, surprise-surprise - Speick stick and a synthetic brush (it lathers any product much faster than a natural hair one). For a 2-pass DFS any will suffice, but I'd of course go for Muehle 23mm if I were you. I personally use Tabac shave stick even more often than Speick, but some have problem with it's scent, so suggesting Speick as it's more herby and neutral.
Oh yes, and you've got to learn how to face-lather, that's the trick.
