Best Products to use after Shave? Balm or Aftershave?

After any given shave (thanks God I like to shave any given day) I use first a non alcol after shave (wonderful Lucky Tiger, purchased on line, or Nivea Sensitive), Nivea Sensitive balm (here in Italy Nivea products are easy to find in supermarkets) and alcol splashes selected depending on my mood, each product applied 5 to 10 minutes or more after the previous one.
This sequence provides me relaxed skin for all the day; my skin is intermediate, not oily nor dry.

I believe each product is designed for different skin types...I use aftershave splash as I have oily skin and find if I use a balm it's a little too much

Same here, a Balm causes me to come out in spots. A splash/lotion works better for me as it dries out some of the oil.

Plus I actually enjoy the burn, wakes me up ready to go.

I have combination skin, but usually prefer a balm as alcohol based products can actually trigger too much oil being produced.

As is often the case there is no right answer. Use whatever works best for you

As Sean above states, whatever works for you; personally I am less fond of aftershave proper (high alcohol liquids) to me they feel like your face has been dragged through stinging nettles, there are of course many who enjoy this perversion/fetish...Urtication I believe it's called!
