Anyone had screen problems after installing El Captan 10.11.1 ?

Since installing the updates I have random parts of my screen going blank/multi coloured. No particular area and at random times, if you move the trackpad or the image refreshes it disappears. Macbook Pro Mid 2012 i7 2.9GHz processor, 8gb ram & 256SSD.

MacBook Air Mid 2012... no problems whatsoever...

Macbook Air Mid 2013.

The update has actually sorted 2 problems I was getting.
Problems with account recognition in Outlook 2011 & WiFi randomly locking up and needing turning on/off.

So far, so good.

iMac 2008. Lost all my Mailboxes and despite advice etc I've not yet managed to relaunch them.
OK apart from that.

On my iMac (2008), on start up the desktop picture comes on fine, but as soon as the window for Bittorrent autoloads it fills the program window with abstract blocks of colour from the desktop picture for about 5 seconds before calming down. My Macbook pro, which has same OS and specs - doesn't!?

Is the only useful useable feature of El Capitan the split screen functionality? Or has this been around for time?

I've reset the NVRAM and at the moment it is behaving itself. Keeping fingers crossed that there is no more screen problems. I will check for issue logs over the next few days.

Split screen is new to OSX, but it's not something I really use.
