My Merkur Progress 830 has arrived. It's just as good looking as I hoped. I've discovered some more info on this model but I'll add that to a new post once I've shaved with it. The previous owner last used a vintage Wilkinson Sword blade in it, so that's what I'll use tomorrow.

Please let us know if it is any good.

I bowl- and palm-lathered the soap today just as a quick test, and it took a lot of work to produce even a small amount of thin lather. Not an auspicious beginning.
