TBH I agree with Steve that the Weber is effectively a stainless Merkur HD, however I like the Merkur HD, so for me that's a good thing.

Seems to me that a Weber is not just a Weber - I find the ARC to be mildest, a DLC to be a close, comfortable shave and most of my Polished Heads to be slightly aggressive. I have two PHs more akin to DLCs in terms of shave.

Well the decision was.... a Merkur 39C bought for me by my wife from The Traditional Shaving Company's shop in Leeds. Dropped in on the way home after spending a few days in York.
Had my first shave with it on Sunday. First impression was the extra heft compared to my R89. Really enjoyable. Thanks for all the help. Now what about my 3rd.....or 4th....or 5th.....or another brush...or....
