1921 Gillette Tuckaway Restored

Well here is a razor that although is not in perfect shape is still a nice razor nonetheless. I got it on a auction and it looked bad, but you take a risk when you buy razors remotely. Sometimes it pays off and sometimes it does not.

This a Silver plated Gillette 1921 Tuckaway. I had to go through the baking soda method to restore as much Silver as possible before polishing to keep as much Silver on the razor and not on a polishing rag as an oxide.

Now there are some flaws in this. There is a crack in the handle at the flange that goes to the head, the base plate has a couple of teeth that are bent and the head has a small loss of plating, but all in all a nice razor.
