Wonderful images of what looked like medieval torture implements

Ha ha - you are absolutely right - I thought that too - you can shave with that - thing? A razor that looks like it came from the disturbed mind of the bastard love child of Yuri Geller and Gaudi? Yup - as good a shave as I will get with anything.

With genuine thanks to all you enablers, advice-givers and well wishers.

I'd second that - to think - I was content with 'normal' razors before I joined here. Oh callow youth. You'll have to prise my Mergress, Merkur 37, Cobra and Aristocrat Slim out my cold dead hands though. Each to their own. Whatever works for you. cheers - I.

Pre Shave: Hot Shower + L'Oreal Birch Sap Face Wash and Proraso White
Razor: Cobra (on loan)
Blade: Feather Pro Guard (#1)
Brush: Semogue 610
Cream: Nivea
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Thayers Lavender Witch Hazel
AS: Lucky Tiger AS and face tonic

Another excellent shave today, after saying yesterday that I preferred Kai guarded blades, I found the Feather guard really rather good today in the Cobra.

Pre: Valobra Glycerlanolina soap, Myrsol Emulsion
Brush: Tony Forsyth P&C LE 2017
Soap: APR Fougère Bourbon Rose
Razor: ATT Kronos S1
Blade: Personna Super Iridium (2)
Post: Myrsol Emulsion
EdP: De Marley Galloway Royal Essence

Sometimes you have to be away from a product for a while to appreciate how good it really is. Such is the case with the APR Fougère Bourbon Rose soap.
Wonderful lather, and the scent is, well, majestic. A perfect medium for my first slant shave with the ATT S1 plate. I can sum first impressions in three words - smooth and efficient. Let me try that again - SMOOTH and efficient. I was tempted to check to see if I'd forgotten to slip in a blade!
I can't say that it was perfect - I'm still experimenting with finding the optimum angle of engagement, but it is very forgiving, and I am very impressed with it on first use.
Three passes for a DFS. THe Galloway EdP was a nice match with the soap scent.

Razor: Razorrock Titanium Baby Smooth (on loan)
Razor blade: Gillette 7 o'clock yellow (2)
Brush: Romera Mancurian
Bowl: Little Wren Pottery
Soap: Saponificio Varesino Dolomiti
Post: Thayers witch hazel and Reuzel aftershave

Fabulous shave this evening. Second shave with the RR Baby Smooth (on loan from @Acer89 ) with excellent results. A very little touch is required. I think it really should be called 'The Baby Face Assassin'.

It's been a long time since I've used the Romera. I sent it to @Acer89 to work his magic. He's totally refurbed the handle and done a top class job. Thank you James, it's stunning!

I'd forgotten what a sublime knot it is. Mega backbone and wonderful soft.

I hadn't used the SV Dolomiti for a long time too. Cracking lather with a gorgeous scent.

Finished off with the excellent Reuzel aftershave....Can I fit anymore superlatives in one Post?

.....OK one more. The greatest band on the planet.

Prep ~ Shower & face wash, Donkey & Goat milk soap
Razor ~ Ever -Ready 1912 Sun Ray made in England
Blade ~ Gem SS
Soap ~ Valbora Stick
Brush ~ Semouge OC Badger
Post~ BBA Post Shave Balm
Scent ~ Stash by SJP

A lovely shave from my favourite 1912 fitted out with a Gem SS blade on its second use. The Valbora soap was spot on and remains one of my top soaps, it produced a wonderful thick creamy lather with my SOC Badger and is more than protective enough for any blade.
BBA PSB to finnish my shave followed by a body spray of the woody Stash EDP by SJP. Looking and smelling great! :) P.

Enjoy your day folks, but let's be careful out there! :)
Nice set up, @Blademonkey - I used the Semogue SOC and Valobra stick in a traveling shave kit earlier in the year, and it worked a treat. Can't say I was using a Gem, though ;).

Vitos Super Red
RazoRock 400
Merkur 34C HD
Derby Extra (1)
Lime witch hazel
Blue Stratos

I thought I would break out a Derby blade for a change. It didn't disappoint. Granted, they're not the sharpest blade in the box, but sharp enough for my needs.
With and against passes took down two days growth in comfort
Vitos Super, I need say no more about the lather.
Old school smell from Blue Stratos for this evening.

Nice one, Paul - classic ad from Oz.

It's more subdued and complex than Proraso, but there's is an inescapable similarity from the eucalyptus and camphor... If you dislike the Proraso then it's probably not for you, if you're only indifferent then I would definitely give it a chance as it has a lot more going on in there.

Had a sniff of the Proraso Green earlier. Not a fan, so thanks for the description and heads up.:)
