    New Saponificio Varesino release

Saponificio Varesino is the only soap maker that will get my money everytime they release a new soap.

    How many shaves per blade

10-15 shaves, but most of the times I replace the blade because I wanna try a different one, not because is dull.

    Plissoft brush-I don't get it

I have the same brush, and yea, it's pretty crappy. Unusable for me. Had only one brush that did the same, and it was a synthetic Zenith.

Polsilver... will they be the greatest no longer made blade of modern times ?

It does not make a lot of sense to discontinue Polsilver blades. I mean, they kinda are the most expensive Russian ones, but they are also selling pretty well. They are made in the same factory with green Gillettes 7 O'clock, Astra SS or Permasharp as far as I understand. And these ones are not...

My First Shave with an Open Comb

To be honest, I don't think about "open comb" and "safety guard" too much. I mean, a good OC razor will shave better than a bad one with safety guard and the other way around. The same with aggressiveness. Some razors with safety guards are gonna be aggressive, and some open combs will be very...

    Question about boar handles

Yea, the white ones are bleached. But I don't know the process. Most Omegas with a dark band are bleached as far as I know. I don't know what that process does to them and how is done though, why they are softer.

    Question about boar handles

I never noticed water getting into the handle, not that I would care about it. If it gets in, it probably comes out while I shake it, after I'm done shaving. All boar brushes need some breaking in period. If you want to speed it up, you can lather them up and leave them overnight like that...

    Chinese futur clone

Two shaves with my Ming Shi 2000S. Can't say that I'll use it any longer. As a big Futur fan (it's my daily driver), the feel of the clone is nowhere near the Futur. Miles away, and the thing that made such a big razor like Futur work great was the angle. That's all off with the clone, as you...

    Question about boar handles

I think that you are overreacting. There are probably more Simpsons that fall out of the handle than plastic Omegas. Yea, the ring will crack, and it might even rotate into the handle, but it will not fall. They are very sturdy brushes, definitely more sturdy than my Semogues. It's not just a...

    Boar lovers rejoice.

I think it's the same fiber, but the Zenith one it's larger and more densley packed. I haven't tried the Pro S-brush, I immagine it might be similar, but the smaller one it's much more usable than Zenith. The handle it's not the same with any Omega ones, but it's similar to the one used on 10066.

    My First Soaps

If you would have asked me two years ago, I would have said no. Today I'm saying yes, it's wrong. We're all looking for bargains, but I wet shave because I find it interesting and I enjoy myself while doing it. That enjoyment will come from different products used too, and there are a lot of...

    Boar lovers rejoice.

Odd, my experience it's quite the opposite. Omega - never had a problem with any of their brushes. Not even one of them was scratchy, they are great out of the box, they only get better. Have about 6 or 7 of them, they are my favorite brushes. I don't have an Omega brush that I don't enjoy...

    Keep blade in razor

I never do acrobatics with my razors and blades. Always keep the blade in, don't switch it around, don't use alcohol, rinse with water and let it dry. I give the razor a scrub when I'm replacing the blade. I've never had any kind of problems with my razors.

    Strongest smelling soap?

Tabula Rasa Patchouli. Had a sample of that stuff, but managed to have my entire house smelling as patchouli for two or three days. I've never encountered a more powerful scent in a shaving soap.

Great and careful vendor, indeed. A pleasure to buy from him.

    Time for a new soap?

I think that we should raise our expectations. At this point, you can't find a single soap that that will not get the job done. Even those that don't lather well, like Williams, will get the job done, you will be able to shave with them, if your technique is good, the actual shave shouldn't be...

    Thinking about an adjustable

That seems to be my favorite settings too, even if the sweet spot on Futur is at 3.5. Can't tell if I like the Progress better than the Futur yet. I seem to be reaching more and more for the Progress, but I don't have it for so long either.

    Thinking about an adjustable

Well, you're not really supporting a company that's making quality razors, but you are supporting their next Kickstarter campaign. Their way of conducting business it's a bit odd. There are no risks involved in what they are doing, they make Kickstarter projects for all of their razors and they...

    Time for a new soap?

You know what else provides me the same performance? Any kind of soap. Not shaving soap. A random bar of hand soap will be slick enough so I can shave with. It might not have enough cushion, but it will be slick enough. But why would I want to use that, when I have so many other options...

No Swirling Allowed (According to Simpsons)

This seems silly for me. First of all, most shavers do swirl their brush. If you face lather and use painting motions, you're not gonna build the lather up. You might, but it might take you an hour. Why not calling it painting brush? And what's more silly is that it's coming from Simpson's...
