The German for "adjustable spanner" is "Engländer". A fact I was repeatedly reminded of by my DE buddies in banter when I was over there. Who said they don't have a sense of humour?! Stereotypes lie. Except maybe the one about British and dodgy spanners!And I stil cringe when I see people on TV using adjustable spanners to remove a nut.

Crescent is a better name, the English company was called King Dick, you would not have wanted to wear the company T shirt...
