Ganders Goat Soap w/Hop, Sage & Birch
Wickham 1912 Shangri-La Shaving Soap
hjm Professional w/Blonde Boar 28mm
RazoRock Hawk (A Plate) w/Red Horseman Swing Handle
Feather Professional (1)
Brut Attraction Totale Aftershave

Perfection!

... a few days ago, I wrote that my shave with the Hawk on a regular plate with a Feather Professional (2nd run) was near perfection. Well, what a difference the A plate makes as this was sincerely perfection for me! This turned the Hawk from feeling like a comfort coated into a Platinum Chrome. I guess A stands for a deeply satisfied "ahhhh".

What a lovely shave, made especially so with the gorgeous scent from the soap and a good splash of Brut Attraction Totale, a red berry, spicy exotic fougere in a similar vein to GFT Eucris, but more George Hamilton than Klaus Kinski.

Prep: Shower with Nivea Daily face wash.

Pre: PAA cube unscented.

Soap: Cowshed bullocks shaving cream.

Brush: Yaqi Sagrada Familia.

Razor: Karve b plate

Blade: Vintage Gillette Wilkinson sword

Post: Alum, Baxter’s of California Shave Tonic and Baxter’s aftershave balm.

A good shave despite the poor lather from the Cowshed! Smells great but I’ve never had a cream lather so poorly, felt like I needed 1/5 of the tube to get anywhere! That said it feels and smells lovely! A good start to the week despite the cream though!

Tue 7 SOTD
Soap Stirling BarberShop
Brush Yaqi 24mm Goblin Husky Knot
Razor Yaqi Slant
Blade Derby Extra 2nd (with a shim)
Aftershaves Stirling Witchhazel Wintergreen + Clubman Brandy Spice
Enjoyed this soap... a mild scent but good creamy and slick lather...
Shave with this aggressive razor paired with the blade and a shim...was good and smooth in 3passes without issues for a between bbs to dfs finish.

I've just had a quick look online chap - never seen Cowshed before. It looks to be a brushless cream hence its failure to lather. Try using it like shaving gel and you may get better results.

Prep: Warm shower
Brush: Cadman 30mm Tuxedo
Soap: Jabon Viriato
Razor: ATT G1
Blade: GEM PTFE (8)
Post: Cold Water and James + Jake

Excellent shave which took a steep negative turn with the James + Jake. Awful greasy feeling immediately on application, second time I've used it and it is going to be consigned to the bin. I will admit, once it has time to soak in, it does the job well but it's not worth the feeling straight out of the tub.

The freebie Viriato from shave stations offer a while ago is good quality but I'm not a fan of the smell. Another one that'll either find it's way into others hands or the box of mystery.

Hope everyone has a grand day!

Cheers

Marc
