MdC Original
Simpson Trafalgar T2 Synth
Face lather
George Ibberson Gillette ‘Old’ clone
Gillette Nacet
Proraso M&E after shave

Anothet outstanding performance from the wee T2; this time with the equally outstanding Martin de Candre.

Ibberson and Co. were (are still?) cutlers in Sheffield and I believe they, like others, used to supplement their income by the supply of facial cutlery too; during the inter-war years.

This clone of a Gillette ‘Old’ is a great shaver. The only difference is that the handle is cast in one piece; so there aren’t the characteristic cracks that can appear after the ball end and female thread were rammed into the tube of the ‘Olds’.

I’m lucky with my ‘Old’: I really have to look for the cracks in mine; others have trenches fit for growing tomatoes.

I keep my current blades attached to my bathroom mirror by magnets, and saw that I'd had a Feather AC blade there for some time. So let's give it one final shave. The Yaqi Raster V2 won out over the Hawk.

As it's been warm here in Scotland, I thought I'd use the Iced Pineapple for that chilled yet tropical scent. The menthol wasn't too noticeable but the scent was. Lovely.

Stay safe and enjoy your shaves!

A wonderful shave today, the Signature soap and Chubby Synth created a fantastic lather on the face, just adding droplets of water to the brush to build it.
2 passes and a touch up on the whirlpools for an easy BBS finish.
This Sample of the Bartsbalm is right up my street, its gone to the top of the tree.
Stay safe and enjoy your day all.

The Game Changer put in an excellent performance with it’s Feather blade on shave three. I’m pretty sure it could go a fourth, but I do have a number of other razors, and blades are cheap (relatively).

Bit of a common theme from me this week, but I’m also glad you’re liking the T2 Stephen.

HWF #3
Thayer’s Cucumber witch hazel
Pinaud Citrus Musk

A bit late to the HWF party, but what a party. The shaving equivalent of being invited to a Jack Nicholson party up in the Hollywood hills, upstairs, with the good coke and the beautiful people.
This soap is soft and pliable, more so than Vitos, easily moulded into an old OSP container. In fact I found it is quite comparable to OSP. Slick, cushioning with an uncomplicated blend of quality essential oils. This soap can take a lot of water. I find that soaps like this, that are high in tallow and lanolin both really suit my skin and provide slickness that glide around my trouble areas easily.
Bbs without even trying.
Post shave, feeling extremely facially nourished some 12 hours later. There’s a gag there somewhere, but I won’t touch it!

Finished with a large splash of Citrus Musk, which perfectly compliments the dark citrus scent profile of the #3.

Very, very good. Enjoy yours chaps.

RR 400. SE - Plissoft noir
Officna Artigiana soap
Schick N3
Schick S/S Twin- Japan ( 4 )
Officina Artigiana A/S lotion

Am still with the N3, as have not changed the rotation as we are unexpectedly away tonight. Dig out this soap which I use sparingly, as I do not won’t to whiz through it and use it as a treat.Though my nose is not trained I like the scent of this one, and the lather is creamy and great to work with.
Two days growth removed with easy, leaving me really close shaven yet my skin is sof and refreshed.

My Shave today consisted of...
Prep Edwin Jagger pre shave lotion.
Brush Mountain Best 100% pure badger brush.
Soap Once Upon A Time.
Razor Merkur Progress.
Blade Gillette Rubie.
Aftershave Once Upon A Time.
I have my 27th Anniversary due on Friday so wanted to shave today so I have the right stubble growth for my shave on the day, before I take her out.
My razor of choice is my brand new Progress and I have had to eat my words, after my first impressions that were not great straight out of the box and before I tried shaving with it. This razors performance has been outstanding and I fully understand why it's been a best seller and highly regarded in the shaving world.
I paired it with a Gillette Rubie blade and it performed much better than the Feather blade, I feel it's going to pair well with most of the Gillette blade range.
Cracking shave with my Once Upon a time soap (I just love the design of the label one of the best I have seen IMHO)
I now smell great, look great and with my BBS shave, I kiss amazing lol.
Stay safe and have an amazing day.

14 July 2021

Prepped with a warm rinse and some Nivea stubble moisturiser. Lathered Barbershop with an Omega mixed bristle cheapo brush. Took my time and did 3 passes; Razorock Lupo .72 (currently my daily driver), loaded with a Personna on its 4th (and final) outing.
Finished off with Stirling Unscented Balm and because it has just arrived, a real heavy helping of the Babershop splash.
Definitely a right good shave, BBS and I'd say if I was marking it, a solid 10!

ABC shaving croap (sample)
Wolfman WR2-SB 0.95/Triad Aristocrat Brass & Stainless Steel
Wilkinson Sword 'New' (14)
Chanel Platinum Égoïste aftershave

The ABC, from a generous friend, made excellent lather with great slickness and glide. It has a pleasant lightly-toasted almond scent. The razor was very smooth and efficient, as always, but I am finding the Triad handle's etching to be a bit too sharp for my hand. This was my first use of the Chanel aftershave, and it was quite good, soothing and with a nice slight burn and a very good spicy-woody-floral fougère fragrance.

Soap = OSP No8 Sample

Balm = Barts Balms Sample D

Another Brilliant shave today
I thought i would use up some samples iv received over the last we while.
OSP soap is fast becoming a favourite of mine.
The post shave feel is absolute class and probably don’t need a balm but i like my routine.
The Aftersplash is very good and can’t remember where i got it, that’s the problem with having to many samples.
The Balm again is class.
i’m not quite picking up an individual scent on this one but a winner for sure.
Enjoy your night boys
