A Better shave today, the Signature soaps doing what is does best bowl lathered with the Smog-hog to produce copious amounts of the good stuff.
With the blade on its 5th outing i was a bit tentative, although, there was no need.
I completed a full WTG pass and it was smooth and comfortable, i then dialled the razor down to #2 and completed a full ATG pass, very nice, a quick check to find i did need the XTG pass. So leaving the razor set to #2 i completed a light touch, short stroke pass - success!, no irritation. I am pleased about that.
A very nice post shave leaving me BBS, comfortable and pretty pleased about the results.
I have now banked the well used Astra and fitted a Personna Platinum to finish off the week.
Stay safe and enjoy your day All.

SOTD 16th June
Pre - PAA Cube
Brush - Yaqi Butterscotch 22mm Cashmere
Soap - Stirling Hipster
Razor- Star Model 100
Blade - Silver Star SS #3
Post - P&B Spitfire

Bit of a rushed shave today so didnspend as much time and attention on the lather - however it was slick enough to provide 2 passes for a face feeler finish. The Star is a nimble performer that gets on with the job and provides a surprisingly close finish. Really like this blade - solid and reliable in its quality control and shaves it provides - no unpleasant surprises - which is what I like. Great old school scent in the Post Shave - Spitfire is a hairs on your chest, macho scent that does remind me of my Grandad - who incidentally was the first person I ever saw use a Straight razor!
Take care people and enjoy this weather and your shaves.

Wed 16th June.

Simpson Chubby 1 / MS. ED2band
Williams Mug soap
Yaqi Raster v2
Kai CT Protouch MG [ 8 ]
Williams Aqua Velva A/S Lotion

One of those days when I am missing the challenge of getting a good Shave from a Vintage SE. The modern AC/SEs really do give good Shaves, but with this Razor/Blade combo is maybe just too easy.

another lovely shave with the Boker 5/8 smoked acrylic with Pearl tang really been enjoying this little shaver think I will be changing to something different for tomorrow’s shave though be nice to have a change. Went with the PAA doppelgänger black soap..a sample that was kindly gifted to me by @RussellR5555 quite a while back..thank you Russ I’ve used it a few times it’s an excellent performer and the closest scent to Sauvage I’ve tried..I don’t have many soaps I want to pick up now but still have a few and this is definitely one of them..love it ! Feeling super smooth and refreshed D36A4AB1-CAA4-4621-ACC0-7528D53872AF.jpeg

Brilliant shave for me today & thanks for all the advice a few weeks ago regarding the rex.

Tonight as if by magic appears a shave themed 'Simple and simplicity'

IMG_20210616_201009_edit_19582904298574.jpg

Stainless Colonial General V2
Feather Super Professional
Wee whisky barrel
Signature soaps Londinium soap
Signature soaps not a soap but some splashy stuff

I really can't be bothered to scribble some mindless drivel this evening and to the same token I wanted a simple mindless shave.

Roll out the most trusted items in the cabinet, throw them altogether in some organised hap hazard type of manner and 'voila ici', one brilliantly super shave. As simple as that.

So have a giphy of an old lady on a bike for no particular reason

And have some of the usual Japanese ladies to sing you out. And something different for a change.

Wednesday 16th June

Dorco_ST300.jpg

Ganders Goat Soap w/Hop, Sage & Birch
Monsavon bol a Raser
Semogue SOC Taj 24mm Boar
Muhle Rocca R95
Dorca ST-300 (3) Korean
Ach Brito Lavanda Cologne

Three really nice shaves ...

Comfortable, forgiving, smooth and sharp enough. Consistent across three shaves and deserving of a rating akin to the better Indian Super Platinums.

Razor: ATT X1
Blade: Proshave S (1)
Brush: Cadman 30mm Tuxedo
Soap: Lisa's NHC Yulin
ASL: Floïd Vigaroso

Great razor, great soap, great brush and shit blade.

You have really put me off these new kids on the block blades. Think I will miss

And no, I don't want to buy 70 of them

This afternoon -

razor - ATT Calypso alu - R plate (I don't know why I bother to type this bit - either this razor or the Karve alu - C plate.)
blade - Gillette Yellow (? - must be realistically 8 or 9 shaves - still working. The little people change them when you are asleep.)
soap - Wickham - Apricus - vegan
brush - Frank Shaving 22mm - Manchurian
post - witch hazel
a/s - 4711
balm - Wickham - Apricus
scent - Sauvage edp.

Excellent - the perfect software for the day and weather. I was thinking - if you are in the UK - what about the wet-shavers equivalent of the shipping forecast? My shave today - opening Apricus - trending - high pressure - descending easterly badger front - 4711. Later - a westerly Sauvage - increasing - parfum by 06:00 hours. :) - enjoy shaving - one and all - there would be simpler and cheaper ways to have a clean face - but that isn't the point is it? We do it better. Yours - I.
