I really wasn't expecting too much this evening as I had to go downstairs halfway through due to a problem with the electrics. I sorted the problem out and returned to the shave rather half heartedly.
Funny old game this shaving lark.

SOTD 31 Mar

Razor - Rockwell 6s R4
Blade - Super Gillette Blue #4
Brush - Yaqi 24mm Black Marble
Soap - HWF
Balm - Hawkins & Brimble

Driving to work this morning getting held up by tractors with the smell of the countryside in the air and thinking of all the lovely soaps I could use for tonight’s shave. P & B, A & E, PAA or OSP but I thought Naaay I’ll bring out the HWF. Never had a baaaad shave with it and tonight did not disappoint. What a great soap. The Super Gillette Blue and the Rockwell work really well together. One happy fella. Stay safe all.

My wife really likes the X-Bolt - however I opened the bottle last week, used it once and vowed never again. I find it a weird clash of vanilla climbing all over a fruity scent - akin to drinking orange juice mixed with milk
The Splash and the EDT are different for me , the splash I didn't like but the EDT I liked , I think it is based on Boss Bottled.

I have this little lot lined up for later today. A nice simple LIME shave.

Feather for the razor and blade. Trumper’s for the soap and cologne. Simpson’s for the brush.

Hopefully it’ll be as simple and refreshing as that.

Stay safe and enjoy your shaves.

Razor: Feather AS-D2
Blade: Feather (2)
Soap: Trumper’s Essence of Limes
Brush: Simpson’s Milk Churn BB
Pre-shave: PAA Cube
Post-shave: Trumper’s West Indian Limes
Bowl: Executive Shaving
Well I'm very disappointed in the soap. This was my first time using it, and as rumoured it was very difficult to lather. Having eventually managed it, the lather thinned and disappeared very quickly. There was slickness but that was it.

Soap really only has one main job, to lather, and when it fails to do that, it's rubbish. Literally. I flung it in the waste bin. I ended up using a trusty LEA shave stick to finish my shave. I won't be buying any more soap from Trumper's.

For all I have heard about this soap I still want to try it..some say the loccitane cade hard soap is terrible but I find with some work it does lather fine..wanted to try the rose and violet version too, I know they do it in the creams but the soap just intrigues me lol will have to give it a whirl think I will start with the rose
