Omega 11126
Speick Active
Mongoose B3
Schick Proline [ 4 ]
Tuff Red A/S Lotion

Having had a great Shave yesterday, I was more than pleased with todays Shave. I seem to have really come to grips with my AC/SE Razors as I continue to get fault free shaves with them.

Today the Mongoose was so smooth and comfortable that it was easy to get a trouble free ultra close finish. I am finding that despite their comparative size and weight I feel more at ease using them than DE Razors. The latter do not really figure in my rotations.

Yaqi Evil Zebra
Rockwell 6S
Treet Carbon (1)
Stirling Satsuma
Nivea 2 Phase & Old Spice Wolfthorn

A cold water shave today given how warm it was outside, very nice for a change. A good shave with the Treet and Rockwell, I'm not a fan of the blade usually but I think the Rockwell makes every blade very good, not a very fussy razor.

Superb soap as expected and wonderfully citrus. Some Island Man lined up for tomorrow.

MWF soap.
Omega 10066 boar brush.
EverReady 1914 SE razor.
gem blade.
Old spice.

If anyone has not tried MWF, just get some. once you have it sussed it is consistently good.
This Omega brush just gets better, instantly a favorite but improving with use
I shimmed the razor this time( 2nd shave on it ) it makes a good razor better. Still need a light touch though.
Finished off with Old Spice. Fab shave.

Sotd - 14/5/18 -

Razor - Yaqi Open comb on a Rockwell handle
blade - Gillette Nacet (4 and out)
brush - Yaqi High mountain silvertip Aqua 24mm
soap - Cella tallow
post - allum
a/s - Vitos Tobacco
balm - Weleda.

Result - clean shaven but so-so -

Amateur hour - operator error - I can't remember the last time I drew blood - granted only a couple of weepers but that is not the point. I knew that I shouldn't push the Nacet to four uses - a fine blade for me when sharp but never a great performer in the longevity stakes - especially on a four day growth. I had to go and find some allum - it's been so long since I used it regularly that it doesn't live 'on deck' anymore. It did its job - but this disruption in my normal regime caused me to forget to use witch hazel. That and my mobile ringing repeatedly downstairs - the Zen of this shave had been well and truly ruined. Any way - enough negatives - what about the positive things? I had forgotten how good the red tub Cella is - your classic Italian almond scented soap. Slick and protective - well it is with a blade that isn't blunt. The brush is opening out a treat - only my second use of it but it is significantly softer than the first. I look forward to it breaking in even further - given the size of the damp knot - perhaps not an inspired choice to use with the diminutive Cella tub. I had to pinch the knot to lather it properly. I think I may have broken the shaving 'law' - Cella = boar, not badger. A 1305 - that's what you want with this soap. The more I use the Vitos Tobacco the more I like it - it reminds me of Floid in the sense that it is an 'honest' product - a decent price and - for me - it just works with a minimum of fuss. I have really come round to the sweet scent of it upon application - which doesn't really matter ultimately as it doesn't last long. A spot of the excellent Weleda balm to take care of any residual rawness on my face. So job done but a 'sair fecht' as we say in Scotland. Must try harder the next time - always trust your instincts - I hope all your shaves are significantly better than mine - yours all - I.

Pre: Glyce Lime
Brush: The Personal Barber synthetic
Razor: The Personal Barber razor
Blade: Astra Superior Platinum
Soap: Palmolive Shave Stick
Post: Bart's Balm Bergamot and Vanilla

Did not get on well with the blade today. Lots of discomfort and irritation. Not sure why as the soap provided plenty on slickness and protection.
