Two Saponificio Varesino bath soaps,TK Maxx,Edelweiss , charcoal and tea tree + Superdrug has a half price deal on the Nivea 2 phase aftershave.
I need those soaps in my life!
The Edelweiss has a cracking scent Rob,3 quid each.....bargain !!!.
Great stuff, thanks Pat. I'll pop down there later. There's one 5 minutes drive from me. Hopefully they'll have some in stock.
My first Lather Catcher is now in my hands. Made in Germany an 'American Model'. From the limited research I've done it's a copy of an early Kampfe circa 1887.
It came with 3 'Simplex' wedge blades, one of which was totally goosed with corrosion. the other two (right of the picture) have some corrosion, and was informed by @Fergiebilly that it's likely the corrosion is deep. I'm keeping them in case I try my hand at honing.
I obtained a honed NOS C.V. Heljestrand wedge from him. Foreground of picture.
You might just make out the adjusting screws on the angle lug.
It will make its debut on my next SOTD. Really looking forward to that.
Thanks Jimmy. I've just had an amazing shave with it this morning.Lovely looking razor. Great score
Update to my post after shaving:Rockwell 2C razor with leather sheath.
Two artisan shaving soaps and ASB from Granville Island market during my recent trip to Vancouver, BC.
I used the 2C baseplate#1 today and have to say it's way milder than my existing 6S, to the point I'd say it's uselessly mild. I'll try baseplate#3 tomorrow which is what I really wanted anyway. Weird as my favourite 6S plate is #2 which gives a really close easy shave.
I haven't tried the soaps yet so can't comment on their performance.
