A lovely cased short handled 1912 found in a grooming set. I don't think it was originally part of the set, but that was to my benefit.
Got an excellent shave which made my morning.

Date: 29 February 2018

Soap/Cream:- Stirling ~ Bay Rum 3x

Monday 29th January

Birch Tar Soap and RSC Facial Scrub
Vitos Pre shave cream
Palmolive Shaving Cream with added Rosemary and Juniper Berry EOs
Zenith (unbleached) Boar Brush.
Giles Shaving Co Bowl
Gillette 'Fat Boy' E 1 Razor with a Treet Durasharp blade
Alum Block and Rinse
Lacura Facial Moisturiser
Murray & Lanman Florida Water

The final razor of my rediscovery on Friday Night. It's in pretty good shape and performed well. The EO additions today were too subtle to remove the underlying scent of regular Palmolive....but it was worth a try.

3 passes for a really nice BBS shave on the one of the best Mondays of the month....I didn't have to go in to work:)

Pre: Warm water face wash
Brush: Semogue 2000 Boar
Soap: Le Pere Lucien
Razor: Blackland Sabre
Blade: Gem Blue Star
Post: Warm then cold water rinse, Floid Black AS

The Sabre is very smooth, though a tad too mild for my tastes to be a daily driver, but it feels great in the hand and is incredibly nimble.
All told a very nice start to the week.

Was a little firmer with my first pass with the 1912 this time around, and was rewarded with a better shave. Very close and comfortable three pass shave, and only a hint of the "scraped" feel I had last time out.
I have a love/hate relationship with Mystic Water soaps. Their scents are invariably excellent (IMO), and the performance is right up there with the best if you get the lather right, but I often have difficulty either under or over hydrating the soap. I aborted the first batch of lather - I just couldn't get it to thicken enough (it was over-aerated). There was no way I was going to plough ahead, given the hardware in use. Hence, started again and got a much better lather second time around, and subsequently a really nice shave :D.

Mon 29th Jan

Omega 11126 boar
Stirling Baker Street soap
Alu. Hawk V1 + S/S Handle
Feather Pro [ 4 ]
Tuff Green A/S Lotion

I finished off my AC/Se Rotation with the Alu. Hawk. I have found it and other Alu/SEs
rather too light for my taste, so I always replace the stock handle with a S/S One.
The Hawk though light has more blade feel than my heavier Razors. This is really noticeable at the start pf a Shave. For me that is a warning to use short strokes and do not rush.

Once initial clearance is done, the Razor with good lather seems to calm down a lot. Though I was worried about working on the upper lip and around the chin, those areas were dealt with quite easily. Overall the Shave attained was first class and completed with a high standard of finish, and no problems. In fact a very good value Razor that delivers a good Shave.

Monday AM 2018-01-29

Georgetown Pottery G20 scuttle (Hamada & Purple)
Rooney 1/1 Ivory Finest #1 (22mm/48mm)
Williams Menthol shaving soap (vintage)
RazoRock Mamba/Stork Consul Titanium
Wilkinson Light Brigade (12)
Guerlain Vétiver aftershave

A good shave, but the soap has lost all of whatever scent it originally had. Next time I'll add a few sprays or drops of a fragrance.

Blade: Astra SP #2
Razor: Gillette Slim Aristocrat L4
Brush: Black Anvil Custom 26mm 2 Band Silvertip Black/Blue & Clear Resin
Soap: Le Pere Lucian Rose De Pushkar
Post: Antica Barbieria Colla Green Tobacco Aftershave Milk
EDP: Rose of Bulgaria

A wonderful 3 pass BBS Shave with the Aristocrat set at 7 then to 5.

First time use of this newly acquired Black Anvil brush and I must say I am over the moon with it.
Not only in my eyes does it look beautiful but its performance is outstanding straight out of the box.
Back bone ideal for face and bowl lathering with superb flow through and super soft tips. With minimum fuss it held enough soap for numerous passes.

The soap is beautifully scented and is so, so slick. The cushion is up there with the best I have tried.

Finished with the ABC and a generous helping of Rose of Bulgaria EDP

Enjoy your shaves.! :)
