Pre Shave: Hot Shower + Truefitt & Hill face scrub and Proraso White
Razor: Gillette FatBoy F2 (#7)
Blade: Triton R3 (#2)
Brush: Razorock 400
Soap: Pinaud Clubman
Bowl: Korium
Post: Alum Block, Cold water and Humphreys Witch Hazel
AS: Halston Z-14
EDT: Halston Z-14

An excellent shave this morning, the Triton R3 blade in the Fatboy on 7 and the Pinaud Clubman soap made for a superb shave. The soap took a bit of work to get the lather going but the results were great, the jar is a bit small so loading the brush is a bit awkward.

Cheers - I have a Feather AS-D2, hopefully the Kai will fit that razor?

Chris

If you have a Feather Popular then the Kai might not fit, I tried to put one in my Feather Popular and it would not fit, the hole in the middle of the Kai blade is slightly too small. A shame as the Feather popular is a nice mild DE and would likely be a good match with the Kai as advised by @Blademonkey.

Sotd - Sunday 28/01/18

Razor - ER 1912 English
blade - ER Corrux (lost count)
brush - Vie Long Anniversary two band
soap - P&B Solaris
post - witch hazel
a/s - Artic Kinesia Spanish
balm - Russian Svoboda
scent - Halston Amber edt.

Result - stellar - a very fine Sunday shave indeed.

I'm worthless and weak - I know this about myself - which is one thing I suppose. I remember deciding three or four shaves ago that I was determined to go back to my double edges for a while - that lasted as long as me going into the backup den to get something (the 'backup den' - that very well might be a lifestyle warning?) and noticing a Bakelite case - which turned out to contain a pristine English 1912 that I had never used before - I'm not sure why it had been neglected thus far. Possibly because it arrived at the same time as a loaner Streamline that had greater demands on my attention. I'd used - and very much love the American 1912 - my gateway to vintage single edges - but I loaned mine to a friend and I suspect I may have to rip it from his cold dead hand he likes it so much. The English version was a replacement in the interim. What a razor - a wee bit heavier in the hand perhaps - a touch more aggressive? Is the 'chain mail' handle slightly shorter? Superb either way. Flawless bbs in two passes. Effortless. First use of the Solaris which I picked up as part of a job lot of soaps from a fellow member - good enough - the scent is a bit weird but not unpleasant. Even after heavy loading the lather died back a bit on the second pass but the slickness was still there to finish the job. I'm ambiguous about P&B soaps to be honest. Cheap but excellent Spanish after shave - it's got algae in it apparently - and the miracle Russian balm to seal the deal. A bit of a bric-a-brac shave but it worked superbly. Everything a Sunday shave should be - enjoy yours gentlemen. The razor came from our own @Blademonkey - thanks P. As did the vintage blades now that I come to think of it - do these things ever die? - yours - I.
