If you don't mind me asking, how much does the Karve set [you] back after currency conversion et al? Or should I just wait to buy that one off you? ;)

Hi Ben,
First off. You cheeky bugger! Laffin! :p:D Yeah I suppose I have a rep for being fussy bugger.:rolleyes:

I've ordered the 3'' handle with C base plate. It worked out at £66.68 including postage. I'll have to wait and see if I get stung by Customs. I think the customs charge is £20.00.

Very nice - go for 'C' plate? :)

Also, @Blademonkey, I know you're into your brass, might want to look at this mate? ;) karveshaving.com

A pair of Big John Rare R008 15.5oz raw denim Japanese selvedge, indigo rope dyed jeans. This dungaree is a work-wear type that was typically worn by workmen who used their hands for a living, and not to be confused with the super skinny style jean, sometimes worn by those who have no visible means if income. This is my second pair, and could be the start of another of one of my pursuits.

The raw denim forums tell me when breaking them in they shouldn't be washed for 6 months to produce the best fade. Fade pictures are regularly published by denim-heads (sort of like Show Us Your Boars). At the risk of sacrificing good fade, mine will be washed on a more normal basis and please don't expect pictures of fade progress. At my age I can only hope for a perfect 2 year fade image.

This hobby doesn't seem to be one for someone on a tight budget. Somewhere between stamp collecting and maybe owning a Harley Davidson.

Interesting enough, the last denim mill in the United States, Cone Mills, closed on December 31, 2017. This mill former made denim for Levis.

Yes, thankyou Ben. I have been looking at it and it is very nice indeed but I'm moving away from DE razor's and towards SE's and Straight's but thanks for the heads up :) P.

That's a great price Rob, please let me know how you get on with it. It never hurts to have a couple of DE razors in the stable just for a change of pace :) P.

Pantalone de Nimes. Wow! I like your style. Before a little research, however, I actually thought the term was part of some kind of organ harvesting scam. Maybe I'll take a look at them for my next pair of spray-ons.

Gardening. Not a bad idea. My daughter suggested they may be more appropriate as part of a halloween costume.
