Budget shave today.

Pre: warm water splash
Razor: WS Hydro
Cream: Palmolive
Brush: Simpsons Chubby
Post: Nivea Hydro gel

A week of being back to the brush, and my skin is improving and feeling brilliant, such a change! The Palmolive was a left over from my last trip into traditional shaving and is about 5-6 years old.

A small ingrown on the base of my neck is causing me issues, hopefully will be able to dig it out tonight but all the usual irritation I get with shaving is disappearing.

+1 on the JPG... also that brush does look marvellous! :D

I'm pleased to hear this Wayne, please keep me informed regarding this razor , I hope I have spent my money wisely and it works well for me :)
I know it is difficult to assess a razors performance after only one shave but I would say on my initial findings that it is relatively mild but very smooth and efficient.
I sincerely hope you will enjoy it.
Wishing you a speedy recovery with your shoulder.
Have a great day,
Wayne :)

Greetings
I would love to know more about this knot especially in terms of how easy (or otherwise) it splays in comparison with any other synthetics you have used.

Regards
Dick.

Wednesday 26th July 2017
Prep: Shower
Razor: GEM Micromatic Clog-pruf
Blade: GEM Stainless Coated
Brush: RazoRock Silvertip Plissoft
Soap: Tabac Stick
Aftershave: Astral Cream (soft)
EDT: Guerlain Heritage

I purchased this RazoRock silvertip plissoft brush in the hope that the knot is a bit more flexible than the standard 24 mm RazoRock plissoft knot... it is not. This brush has a little less flex than the standard knot but the tips are definitely a little bit softer; the loft and glue bump in both models seems the same.

It is an excellent brush and for those seeking soft tips with a little more backbone (less flex ) than the standard RazoRock 24mm knot this is a great brush and wonderful value, but it is not really quite what I was hoping for. My favourite knot still remains the L'Occitane Plisson. I accept many find it splays too easy but for me it is just right.

Regards
Dick.

Wed 26th July

Omega 11137 boar
Lea Classic soap
Mongoose B3
Schick Proline P [ 6 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Lea Classic A/S lotion

Continuing with the Mongoose familiarisation. Pleased that the cut sustained the other day appears to have disappeared, so was able to shave that area with no problems.

The Mongoose & Schick Blade work so well that it is easy to get a nice comfortable Shave every outing, provided that your attention does not wander. Razors such as this make you wonder how much use you will make of the Vintage SEs you have amassed, already a few have not seen the light of day for a while. I will eventually get rid of some on the web, so easy to buy them but more hassle getting rid of them, though I note others are thinning out their herds.

Hi Paul,

I managed BBS after a 3 pass shave with a couple of touch ups to my left cheek which for some reason is always more difficult to obtain BBS than my right cheek. Strange I know but true. :)
I also found that the angle you shave at with this razor is slightly different than my other DE's in that you need to obtain a slightly steeper angle than usual.
Overall though it does what it says on the tin. :)

Hope this helps,
Wayne
