S.O.T.D. Saturday 22nd April to Friday 28th April 2017

Wed 26th April

Vulfix 404 mixed
OSP Bay Rum
Mercer Progress LH
Lab Blue [2 ]
Alum Rub/Rinse off
Tuff Green A/S lotion

Today a DE Shave after a break of nearly 3 months. Always quite wary when I return to them, as personally I find them less forgiving than SE or Injectors. But by not rushing and taking care had a very pleasant shave, which was smooth comfortable with a nice close all round finish.

On the occasions that I return to DE Shaving I stick to Lab Blues, which I got before the saga
of the White Wrappers . As I use them infrequently I have enough to see me through a few years.

Evening chaps!
Rather a hurried affair this eve, never a good idea.
Second use of the Gillette slim with the feather, three pass, but more like twenty three, completely forgot to not keep going over the same area repeatedly, and no pressure! Unbelievably even after this amount of facial abuse a very poor shave was achieved.
Never mind the next one will be awesome I'm sure.
Gillette slim,
Feather blade #2,
Osp orange and patchouli soap,
Grosvenor brush,
Tabac lotion.
Sorry, no pictures tonight.:)

Shaving and making love to a beautiful woman are much the same, as far as it should never be rushed, it should be savoured for every wonderful moment and always with a light hand. I'm sure the next one will be awesome. :)

Wednesday's shave

Pre-shave - Warm shower, Wright's Coal Tar Soap, followed by L'Occtitane Cade Shave Oil.
Razor - Hone 15.
Blade - Feather New Hi-Stainless (day 2).
Soap - L'Occtitane Cade Shave Cream.
Brush - Simpsons Chubby 2 - Best Badger.
Post shave - Myrsol "Metilsol" Astringent After Shave, followed by L'Occtitane Cade Aftershave Balm.

Another excellent shave with the Hone 15, paired with a Feather. Stuck to a strict 2 pass wtg, atg (on face) with xtg (on neck).

Not quite as close a shave as yesterday's - slightly surprised as the Feather works better for me on day 2. The Myrsol astrigent splash, followed by the Cade balm left my skin feeling good.

All the best,

Chris

First outing with the PAL Adjustable. Had a problem loading the first blade. It was on the slant so had to load another one.
I asked James @Acer89 and apparently I hadn't pushed it in far enough (my ex used to complain about the same thing:p) and it had missed one of the holding pins. Thankfully this is were the drama ends.

I took it steady and no pressure. It took a little time to find (and keep) the right angle. The shave was smooth and pretty comfortable. The finished shave was pretty darn close for my first time using it too.

First time trying a Razorock aftershave. There was more alcohol than the Fine A/S I normally use, so a bit more sting. The face feel was OK but again not as good as the Fine one.

Thanks to all those who have given me advice and words of encouragement, it's appreciated.
Special thanks go to James @Acer89 for all his help, thank you.

Cheers
Rob

Razor...Iwasaki Kamisori 60mm
Soap...La Savonniere du Moulin
Brush...Cadman Bell TGN silvertip
Post...Thayers lavender
EDT...Paloma Picasso...Minotaure

With thanks to @nolisco for my sample of Moulin, it is a fantastic soap and was whipped up into a creamy lather with ease with my Cadman bell brush. I have already placed an order for a puck of this wonderful soap........enabler :)

So the lather was top draw, on to the shave..the freshly honed Kamisori just cut though the stubble as if it wasn't there, a fab shave was had, soft and smooth and no nicks whatsoever, the perfect shave.

Finnished off with Thayers and some Minotaure sprayed here and there. Looking good, smelling great, ready for the day.

Have a good one people.......:)
