Lovely.
Tabula Rasa Steam Punk is one of the expensive, but, worth it products.
A weekend treat, have a good one gents.
(The?)Tabula Rasa is a character from a Clive Barker Book called Imajica.I like the artwork on the tub.

Sunday 29th

Soap - OSP Neroli
Brush - RazoRock Plissoft 'Disrupter' 22mm synth.
Face lather
Razor - Fatip Piccolo
Blade - Personna Israeli Red #1
Post - Thayer's and 4711 EdC

The smooth Personna blade is complimented by the assertiveness of the Piccolo, giving a great balance. The resulting shave is smooth and close.

Layering the OSP Neroli with the 4711 works well too; as the EdC has top notes (albeit fleetingly) of neroli.

Have a great day, folks.

Mastro Livi CarboInox, 6/8 Full Hollow, Barber's Notch

CarboInox time! This Sunday I wanted to use my very first Mastro Livi CarboInox razor which made me think about the beauty of this straight razor, both the blade and scales. The blade reminds me of the sea - blue like water, golden like a beach - and the two color cocobolo scales with its light-dark pattern is a perfect match to the blade. I also wanted to use two of the products I recently bought in my last trip in the Netherland: De Vergulde Hand Extra Fris shaving soap and Mennen Blue aftershave. It is now a very long time I use De Vergulde Hand soap and I have always wanted to try the "Extra Fris" version, a soap that seems to be harder to get and less popular than the "classic-yellow" one. It is not so bad, although I expected it to really be "extra fris" like they said. The Mennen Blue aftershave proved to be a good lotion and I like its "classic" fragrance quite a lot.

  • Pre-Shave: RazorGuy Pre-Shave Oil
  • Soap: De Vergulde Hand Extra Fris
  • Brush: Mastro Livi Best Badger, Black African Ebony Handle, 24mm Knot
  • Bowl: Gerby Bowl
  • Strop: Mastro Livi Medium Loom Strop "Coramella Italiana" and Hand Palm
  • Razor: Mastro Livi CarboInox, 6/8 Full Hollow, Barber's Notch
  • Post-Shave: Alum Block
  • Post-Shave: Argan Oil
  • After Shave: Mennen Blue
