How many soaps and creams do you have in rotation?

Managed to thin the herd down to 4 now, L'Occitane Cade, Le Pere Lucien, MWF hard soaps & L'Occitane Cade cream... Hoping to add some Martin de Candre in the new year but other than that I'm a happy chappy with what I've got.

i set aside the soaps i want to use up in the coming year and use them up - am well out of my acquisition phase - won't need to buy for about a decade. i've not got into vintage soap but by the time i see the end of my stock some of them will be getting there!

I have four and a bit

Proraso Red
Proraso Green
TOBS Sandalwood
Executive Shaving Natural Shaving Cream
Samples - some

As a newbie I have had to learn about the amount of water required to produce the perfect(ish) lather for each cream. So far, I cannot fault any of the creams I have used.

Had over 20, now down to 15. Am operating strict 1 in 1 out policy and some that I do have will not be replaced so hopefully by this time next year, should be a dozen tops. Maybe.......

Any particular reasons for not replacing some? wanted to change or not what you expected?

I think I've been pretty lucky really with my choices, I like some more than others though.

Three soaps at any one time, which are used until finished (apart from triple milled which may be rested due to their longevity or things which clearly don't work). Currently I have Mike's Lily Of The Valley, La Saponeria Artigiana Coconut and Razor Master Toivu (Pine Tar) in active service.

I also keep a couple of creams on the go primarily for travel or when I'm in a rush. Herbs of Bulgaria and Palmolive Sensitive currently fill that spot.

I would have to say them all, I choose whichever takes my fancy when I prep my shave.

This week I am sticking to 4. I started the week using Archaic Alchemy's Citrus Mint (I like to start the week with a mentholated shave) and yesterday I used a shave stick by Le Savon des Volcans. Today I used Phoenix and Beau's Solaris. From tomorrow through to my Christmas Day shave I will be using Stirling Soaps Ozark Mountain for the hit of forests and trees, makes me feel very Christmassy indeed!

I have Tabac soap
Barrister and Mann vetiver
MWF
Phoenix Accoutrements CaD
Razwar Spice-Age
OSP fougere
Some creams
Nivea, Palmolive, Tabac, Speck,
Atkinson, Truefitt and Hill Indian
limes
I'm still looking for the Holy Grail, the nourishment of the MWF, the scent of Tabac, the lather of B&M, and all that for the price of a Palmolive please!? ;)
A saponificio SE70 and a Tundra and a La toja stick are heading my way soon. All gifts btw.

I have about 15 in use, and some creams and sticks that I've never used.

My "kick" at the moment is UK artisan soaps; P&B, OSP and Nanny's. A couple are coming to an end and I'll replace them with different soaps from those makers.

I used to like creams, especially TOBS and Proraso , and hammered through them pretty quickly. For some reason, I've gone off them, but no doubt that will change.

In no particular order, but favorites are underlined:
  • Proraso Green (croap)
  • Proraso Red Cream
  • Proraso Blue Cream
  • Haslinger Seaweed
  • Tabac
  • Lea Stick
  • La Toya Stick
  • La Toya Cream
  • Palmolive Classica Crème (from Italy)
  • TOBS Sandalwood
  • Maca Root
All of these meander in an out of daily usage.

Sitting out of rotation is Speick Active, which I just can't get on good terms with.

Also out of rotation is the Palmolive Shave Stick. It's presence in my bathroom is akin to having to live next door to an acrimoniously divorced ex-wife. We glower at each other, begrudgingly admitting that there were good times together in the past, but now finding it hard to remember what we found attractive in the first place. That said, we haven't ruled out the chance that even though the romance is dead, at some stage in the future we may get along together.

There is an OSP Bay Rum coming down the chimney as well.

Plenty of soap from my current three favourite soapmakers:

Wickham - 6 x 1912 formula
JabonMan - 4 x mix of Eufros Premium and Tallow formulas
Martin de Candre - 1 x Scented, used as my travel soap

I also have one full-size tub from each of L&L, Myrsol, Nanny's and Mystic Water that are under review and plenty of assorted samples.
