I can remember my dads first brand new car as it brings back some very bad memories. He was a sparky in a coal mine in South Africa and changed jobs to go and work offshore on the rigs. After his first stint away he came back home with, what was then, a massive pay cheque. He went to the local Nissan dealership and bought a brand new car with cash, it was his pride and joy. One unfortunate day after my dad had been playing darts at his local, one very silly little 4 year old found said darts lying in the kitchen, can you tell whats coming? His pride and joy ended up with some aftermarket go faster stripes and more than a few extra holes which I thought added nicely to the stripes, my dad most definately did not agree. I know it's frowned upon by most nowadays, but I can clearly remember what happened to little boys who carried out such acts 30 plus years ago. In fact I can still clearly remember not being able to sit down for quite a few days and every time I heard my dads voice I got a little nervous. I can't say I blame him and surprisingly enough it also gave me a new found respect for other peoples property, something which remains with me to this day.
