Hi all.

We're heading to York for a short break soon. I usually try to pick up something shave related, usually soap or ASL on my travels. Just wondering if anyone has experience of The Yorkshire Soap Co. shave soaps?

Thanks in advance - David.

Yes, a very good cream . This appeared last summer in 3 scents which are very nice . The lather is superb and far exceeds the price of £10.
I'd buy a tub and if you like it, buy the other varieties before you leave. They do a brush which I've not tried. If you buy it, I'd like to hear what it's like.
They do all sorts of bath soaps, which are good too and make lovely presents. Bars plus ones which look like cakes. Next Christmas sorted for you.

I was passing a branch of this company and picked up a tin of cream and their brush for £20.
I loaded the brush with soap and face lathered. It's the only one of my synthetics which I find is good for face lathering. Beats the Simpsons chubby 2 by a huge amount. I've been looking for a synthetic as good as my badgers for face lathering.
The sales lady did say a customer said it was the best brush he ever used.

They are not Soaps, but creams, but very good ones at that. Amongst the best creams I've ever used

If you want Soaps worth chasing down York Swirling Soapery's offerings. Not sure where they are available over the counter as the place I did use stopped stocking them. Supern scents and superb Soaps though if you can find them

York used to be good for shaving items. Sadly I think everywhere hss closed. A perfumery store did most London products, a Tailor did Floris and Trumpers, a Cobbler also had high end London brands, a Barber did modern shaving products, and a Tobacconist did Fawcett and more. Sadly all gone.

Penhaligons is at the outlet centre, but their shaving items dried up.

L'Occitane are still there ... but can't recall if Crabree & Evelyn are. Creams, now. C&E gave up on shaving soap around 2013 and L'Occitane post-2016 is not right good for soap.

Bath House have a small shaving section. Their soap is lovely if you get the lather right, but it's easily overdone with too much water and goes foamy. Using a well flicked out synthetic (like Muhle STF) gets the best ... for me.

I live close to their Ilkley branch and tester sprayed their eau de parfums. They are extremely tempting and very reasonably priced at £39 for 100 ml. Next on my list of purchases. I really liked Habibi Oud, Yorkshire Lad and Botanici Di Limone

These creams are very good and is the only cream I use. Otherwise I use hard soaps like sv and mdc.
Never heard of york swirling soapery, but from the Web site, the shaving tins have similar labels to the yorkshire soap shaving creams. Soapery seems to have a shop in Harrogate. Their soaps look very good
The shaving brush I bought from yorkshire soaps is excellent indeed. I'd been looking for a synthetic that was good at face lathering as my others such as chubby2, were too springy. Well d9ne Yorkshire it seems!

Just popped into the Ilkley store. Resisted buying EDP. Suggested to the store assistant that a hard puck shaving soap of Yorkshire lad would probably be very well received. They have a customer feedback session every Monday so it will be raised.

Would love a hard soap. I wonder if the shaving creams sell well.

Popped into Penhaligons on a morning visit to the outlet mall. One of the staff told me that there is talk of the shaving products making a return this year.
