I am glad a did not give up with the YA - V1, loaded with a 3 shave Rubie and set to about 1.75 it delivered a very smooth Comfortable BBS shave from 3 passes.
I think i will probably go down a touch more to 1.5 and see how i go the next time it gets a run out.

I'll post the feedback here Shubs. I've got a good selection of quality AC razors so I've bought this one out of sheer curiosity.Dibs on the Yaqi AC model, but I imagine I'm already late to call dibs!
I'd be intrigued in your thoughts with it though Chris.
I've used quite a few Yaqi razor heads, and aside from the DOC/SLOC head, I find the others far too aggressive.

I used to check Yaqi every week. And on the rare occasions I didn't.... Boom they drop a few Adjustables.... Just my luck....
Anyway I'll wait to see what more people say about them before thinking about getting one.
