Bought this bad boy today. don't know if Yaqi are any good but i liked the look of it. i don't normally buy cheap but thought what the hell. you never know i might be surprised. at £18 if it's no good i'll stick it in the newbie box

Yaqi make very good brushes - they're a manufacturer and make brushes for numerous customers under different names. I have that brush and it's a good performer. Whilst synthetics dont break-in in the conventional sense, I find that the knots do loosen slightly after a few uses. A few brushes I was initially unimpressed with have turned out to be good performers.

I have experience with their 24mm tuxedo and I'd prefer it over their "plisson" knot. More backbone which I liked.

Yeah, it gives a really dense lather for me ...

I have the knot, but in a vintage Ever Ready brush:

... the one at the back. The one at the front is another vintage Ever Ready with a "Tuxedo" from a different supplier. I can't recall the original brush that I pulled the Yaqi knot from.

I have a Cadman 30mm Tuxedo which does a great job but it is more suitable towards hard soap than croaps or creams. With a good soap it can be a lather monster. Generally though I do prefer Cashmere and Grey/White synthetic knots as better all rounders.

Nice brush, seen that one featured on a few of the wet shavers channels over on YouTube.

I have the Yaqi Mysterious Space brush (which has this same knot) and it's my favourite brush.
For quality, value for money, and performance wise, in my opinion Yaqi are unbeatable.

The Yaqi Tuxedu is a really good synthetic knot. It performs far above its price point, being soft on the face but with a decent amount of backbone..
