Wolf Whiskers list is open...

That looks good Raj, I'm thinking to try something different this time round, may even use a few contacts in China whom I know.

Beware the Nishster! He likes his brushes with more backbone than I can tolerate. I put an extra 4mm onto his bulb recommendation and it is beautifully luxuriant - suitable for faces, not floors.

Agreed Carl. I find my sweet spot with bulbs to be around 56-58mm depending on the knot. When going fans in 2band, I like to stay around 52-54mm.

I would have to agree with Nishy on this one. Those recommendations are for silvertip, not two band. Decent backbone but not over the top. I would say that those lofts would make a silvertip be not very floppy.

Playing around with the hole diameter is another way to increase or decrease backbone. For my Shavemac D01 knot (which was originally set at 23mm diameter and 16 mm depth), making the hole 24mm and sinking the knot down to 18mm, should retain some good backbone, but make the flow through better. Making the hole 22mm and setting the knot at 14mm would do the same thing, but would probably result in less backbone.

In it's original setting, it was a lather hog. And for reference, the plug of the extracted knot was 20mm. As a general rule, you add 2mm to the diameter of the plug to get the optimum knot "size." It being a Shavemac, and an ultra dense knot, they added 3mm.
