Along side with their current range of soaps, not to replace what they already make and sell.........relaxWickham is making great vegan soaps. It even says on their soap labels "vegetal". I have four soaps from them and samples of the whole rest of their shaving soaps. They perform outstanding, why would there be a need to make tallow based soaps?
On top of that, switching to animal based ingredients would loose them one aspect that makes them stand out from the rest of the soap makers. For me, the vegan and cruelty free aspect, along with the use of sustainable palm oil is the most important and only reason to buy their products.
Wickhams who you hold in such high regard and for good reason I may add used to produce a top notch Tallow soap, so they have not always been vegan freindly as a company and got along nicely selling both products before for whatever reason discontinuing the tallow soap. The beast is not killed for its tallow, tallow is simply a byproductWell, taking care, that your products are vegan, cruelty free and enviromental halfway decent, shows that you as one of only a few manufacturers care and value those aspects. At least, the customer gets that image.
Once you include animal based products, you loose that credibility. It is a signal, that those values does not mean anything anymore.
It was simply a question asked by Wickhams Soap Co, should Wickhams put out a tallow soap? The question was asked over on ATG yesterday, it is not a done deal and I think if you feel strongly about the matter maybe you should make your feelings known to the man himself, I'm sure he would be interested in your views on the question he asked. P.I did not know Wickham in the time you mentioned, I can only judge from what I see at the moment. It is not only this special company but everyone that has established itself with certain values. Customers that like these values might/ will loose faith with that company, once they drop them.
Good for you, I would be interested in what he has to say regarding your opinion and I'm the first person to stand up and say we all have the right to hold opinions and to stand up and voice our opinions. P.Thank you good idea, and to answer the "simple" question:
In my opinion, no, they should not.
