Not for sale in India ... probably for good reason!

Platinum, yet the blade says "Super Stainless"
... and rusty!

I don't think I've encountered bootleg blades before. These are for the collection as there's no way they're going anywhere near my face.

Super-Max: Max = maximum = top quality
Super-Mtc: Medium to crap - the name says it all. Medium is maybe a little optimistic mind!

It was reviewed in his big thread

I have, yes ... (now).

VERY similar to the Blue Diamond Platinum that we can get, VERY similar to the Zorrik & Vidyut Super Platinum ... if not the same blade for different markets. I like the Blue Diamond Platinum a lot and I like the Diamond Edge a lot.

There was some musing in the 'Six Weeks ...' thread as I did not have them to hand at the time. Since then, yes, and it was as I expected.

I used one of the Diamonds that was gifted to me a few years back as well as their Platinum, Super Platinum and even a Titanium one and none shaved me as well as the Super Stainless (yellow/green). YMMV.

Thanks Paul. I also like the Blue Diamond Platinum so have picked up a couple of tucks to try.

"a few years back" ... the latest epoch are completely different.

Not to sound like a knee-jerk snap there, but the latest epoch sputtered blades have a very clear focus on smoothness and finish. The latest epoch Blue Diamond Platinum is a clear notch up from the domestic branded Zorrik & Vidyut, but the top class domestic SuperMax is certainly on a par with the global Blue Diamond Platinum. I would say "better" than the (older) green Super Stainless [and remember, I like stainless and often do NOT like Platinum] as they're both sharp and super-smooth.

Current epoch Titanium under the Zorrik and SuperMax brands are laughably dull blades, but they are phenomenally smooth, comfortable and forgiving, and absolutely the blade that you can run over and over and over and over your face without any hint of irritation. The older Blue Diamond Titanium were indeed smooth, but dull ... and really against today's versions, not fit for purpose.

Latest crop are highly improved blades ...

Spotters Guide? If the blade comes in a branded greaseproof wrap, it's one of the latest crop - see my 'Six Weeks in SuperMax' guide.

Tried the Supermax blue diamond yesterday in the Merkur Progress on 2 and it gave one of the best shaves I have had. Tried it again today with a new blade in my Gillette 109 on 5 and wow felt and looked like I had used a cheese grater. Will try the gillette again on 2 but my normal setting with Rapira is 5.
