Which soap next?

Well...

After much debate I went with another Mama Bear's soap - Cocoa EO! Can't wait to receive it!

I'm leaning towards glycerin soaps at the moment. However, had a simply awesome shave with Cade this morning! Yum.

Do tell us what it's like!

Yeah, got it direct from her site.

Traditional Shaving has some of her soaps but they seem very pricey and they don't have the full range.

I have Rosemary Mint (superb scent, awesome for summer), Dragon's Blood (hard to describe, kind of warm and spicy).

I love the screw top tubs they come in, great for travel. I haven't finished either one yet and have had them nearly a year.

Great lather, scent and skin care. The least drying soap I've tried so far. I would even say they moisturise a little. I don't believe many soaps actually moisturise, I think some are just less drying than others.

[*]Tabac - sometimes great, sometimes average shaves, hate the smell. I tried!

I gather that Irish Moss (we speak English here) has the same qualities as Tabac but smells Herby rather than Spicy.

Whats the secret to lathering a MBs soap?

There's a secret??

I lather it the same as all my soaps pretty much. Load a fairly dry brush for 1-2 mins, face lather, slowly add water by dipping tip of brush in sink. You need to add slightly more water than other soaps I think.

Make sure you load the brush enough. Many people's trouble with soaps is that they don't load for long enough. I would say 2 mins minimum!

MB's lather is very slick and even when you rinse off, you can feel a slippery film on your skin so you can get away with minor touch ups without having to re-lather. This is the only soap I've noticed this with!

There's a good tutorial on glycerin soaps here: http://badgerandblade.com/vb/showthread.php?t=63824. Part 1 is what not to do, Part 2 is what to do!

Great - thanks for that link SirPrize! Been looking for a store that sells this stuff. May just have to order some!

Is it definitely the same formula as Tabac, with only difference being scent?

i got mine from the same place and the ingredients are damn near identical, or should i say the proportions are slightly different but it works exactly the same as Tabac.

i seem to prefer using my Tabac stick to the cake for some reason :?

I got two Irisch Moos sticks from that store via a forum member whoo was sending me a razor at the time, he kindly agreed to get me a couple. To me it is the same as Tabac in performance, just a different smell. I also have a Tabac bowl both are good and I go through phases where I will rech for the cake of Tabac a few days in a row, then I use the Moos stick and and realise it depends on which smell I want.

It is a hard choice, there are not enough shaves in the day.
