BBA is the best pre / shave oil I have had the pleasure of using and Will continue to use in the future. You can buy cheaper and some people like to use argan oil , the choice is yours, don't forget when you are looking at price....a little goes a long way.Evening everyone,
I have read through a fair few posts here and I'm still stuck for a pre shave oil. This is for a relaxing Sunday shave routine where the process I am aiming for will be something similar too:
1. Moisturise
2. Hot towel
3. Pre shave oil
4. Hot towel
5. Lather
The aim is to find an oil that will settle into the skin and add another level to moisturising the hair and skin. Ideally it'd smell nice too but if not, I can scent the towels so feel free to send any home recipes my way

Yes I understand, I suppose you need to buy and use inferior products before you can really appreciate what a quality product is. Just write it down somewhere and when you're ready you will know what to buy.Really that good? I agree that price isn't that big a deal when it comes to quality product. Just a bit wary of jumping in at that price when I haven't tried anything else. I wouldn't really know how it compares. And as I'm writing this I'm realising that regardless, I will probably have to just start with the £1 wilko option and take it from there

YMMV is taken as read at the end of everything I say, after all whatever I say is only my opinion and others may hold a different one so very much YMMVWhat happened to YMMV? Is there no competition? One oil to rule them all?

I've tried others and they all sat on top of my skin and made a mess of my brushes however if you want another contender then argan oil is well liked my many here and can be found in high street stores or online. That is a solid pointI guess I was hoping that there would be more variety when it comes to pre shave and that you would maybe have another contender. You seem to know a lot about a lot that goes on around here and consistently give solid answers so I respect your opinion...
And it has been noted - Blademonkey loves a bit of BBA pre shave.
Zirh and Murdock are most probably two of the best IMO but why people use a cream/soap on top of oil is beyond me.
So you use oil on its own?
Farzad Salehi uses it as part of the pre shave. If it works for him, I'm involved.

..In a word......Yes.What happened to YMMV? Is there no competition? One oil to rule them all?
