Potassium alum, and it does pretty much what the lady says.
I use mine after shaving, cold splash and apply it wet to the face, tidy up and cold rinse then dry and apply smellies of choice.
I also use it as a natural deodorant and it works extremely well for me.
There are those that wont use Alum,,health and safety etc,,but its your choice I guess.

Having used alum virtually every day for over a year now, I am on a sabbatical from it for a little while. I just want to see if there was anything it was really doing for me or whether it was a placebo / ritual i got myself into.

I use one after every shave,not sure if it does anything other than stop any small nicks bleeding though.

I did post on another tread that the first sign of a nick or weeper and I would reach straight for it. In that respect an alum block is well worth the money - in my opinion :|

I always use mine,interesting thing is,my first initial cold rinse is not the same as the second one when washing the alum off,skin defo feels tighter
