You betcha! In fact I regularly get comments including "you smell nice", "you never smell bad fair play" and "what the f is that god-awful stench"!You may be peeded off ... but I'm betting you're the best scented guy in your workplace !

Order some rum off amazon! Or ask someone politely to get you some! Either way, you've earned it.So more of a what's made my fortnight crap really.
My old ruptured disk/neck injury has been playing up again leaving me with pain and nerve jangles round my left shoulder and along the top of my left arm. Fairly normal but it's also been making my left ear fizz(sensation not sound) and the left side of my head sort of numb which is worse than usual. So I'm not on form.
My first week for the girls back at school last week made interesting by the eldest starting at her new school and due to the dearth of after school care for eleven pluses, going back to her mum's until I finish work. Now that was hard work to keep arranged and costly.
So second day in I forget to give her bus fare for her homeward journey, she forgets to ask, I've always just dropped her off and picked her up. Two mile walk home to her mother's, her phone doesn't work but being independently minded she doesn't ask a teacher for bus fare or use of a phone. Just sets off get's lost and takes an hour going home. Hello my name is MUD! much apologising and promising it won't happen again later and I'm thinking well her mother took that well!
Nope! My 80 yo mother receives emails from her And her mum... containing various moans and complaints from the real to the extrapolated covering the last eleven years. Cue some rather tense pick ups after school but arguments steadfastly avoided.
Saturday after gymnastics I go to drop them off and her mother has travelled from Cambridge to help her ambush me (strangely the rather Amazonian care lady was there as well!?). They were like two terriers at a rat. After the all too familiar realisation that whatever I say will be wrong I try to retreat. The ex mother in law gives chase shouting " I'll deal with your mother then little boy" (I'm 51) and trying to push me out of the house. The girls, of course have been present through all this and get to witness their Nanan slamming the door onto my hand (on purpose? probably) as icing on the cake. Ouch! they let me back in, the care lady who's been sitting with her head in her hands gives me some tissues for the blood annnd! they start again.
Discretion valour and all that, I make my escape. Defo a hospital job and it's my right hand so I go and ask a neighbour for a lift to Casualty. My eldest joins me and won't leave, we all get in the car. As we're pulling out of 'Albert Square' my youngest comes running out and clambers in. My last view behind is of the rather forlorn form of my ex watching us all go.
The girls were brilliant in A&E keeping me entertained and distracted. They were fascinated by the visual inspection of my tendons and the youngest even climbed on the gurney for a better look. The stitching was cool as well - for them. My eldest held my good hand and fed me Skittles through it all. Proud and gutted all at the same time.
Six stitches and a tad of nerve damage - lucky really.
I didn't want to take them back afterwards.
Oh yes and on Monday I went to have blood taken for a health check and for the first time ever they missed the vein! I have veins like straws just below the skin but no, not this week.
AND there is still at least one SODDING BASTARD MOUSE in the wall behind my bed.
And I'm out of rum!
Sigh
It's a shame the girls had to see and hear all of that but still jumped in the car with you to go to the hospital so they know what's what and will not be brainwashed by your ex wife and ex mother in law, they sound like a couple of great kids who obviously love their Dad.So more of a what's made my fortnight crap really.

...Hit's the nail on the head...

I can't dress it up, that is a crap couple of weeks. Again though, your girls pulled through for you. Good dad = good kids from what I can tell! Glad they enjoyed the gruesome scenes as well!
I can understand your frustration, from what you have said it does seem as if these volunteers need a little training if they are to answer the phone and deal with the public in an efficient maner and if found that they have not got the skills to pick up a phone and be Profesional then they should be left to the dog walking duties and kennel cleaning ect. I hope you can find a companion for your little Daisy and re home a dog in need of a caring owner. P.Thus far: Yesterday I phoned the local RSPCA to enquire about a dog I saw there Saturday, prior to Tuesday morning as advised (background, I'm familial to one of the staff there, so am known to most staff). Fourth time in trying, I gave up trying to speak to a person and left a message, asking that someone phones me back regarding the little woofer. Heard nothing so tried phoning a number of times today only to ring out to answer-phone or have a user busy tone. Eventually, I got to speak to someone who stated they didn't catch my number because the message was too quiet. They said that I sounded quiet on the phone, but proceeded to let me know they'd turned the speaker up. I enquired, again, about the dog and was told there's a lot of interest. Fair enough. I asked whether the dog in question was dog friendly as I'd had a dog there before (my little Daisy) and they then admitted they didn't know as they didn't have the assessment details in front of them and were a volunteer. I asked that someone could phone me back to arrange a viewing and find out more about the dog, sorted. I asked why no one had picked up the phone in the attempts yesterday and this morning when it had rung through and their response was 'our line is usually busy'. At this point I gave up and said 'okay, tarrah'.
Cue, an hour later, had a phone call from another staff member. They stated that the dog has a lot of interest and someone was going to be seeing him shortly, on a first-come-first-served basis (granted, I'd probably have been close to first in line had someone picked up the phone yesterday afternoon - slight annoyance). I asked whether he was good with dogs and the response was 'um yeah', followed by a long pause. They then said 'well the ball is in your court', with no explanation or further to this statement. Amidst me stating that I'd discuss with the OH and get back to them, they'd hung up.
Not a major issue to fuss about, but I really felt like they couldn't have cared less about my potential adopting of a dog from them. Furthermore, it's not the first time I've potentially missed out on a dog due to their lack of answering the phone - it happened previously about a month ago. I passed it off as 'it wasn't meant to be' but given this situation its apparent it's not a one-off.
Bah! Rant over.
What frustrated me is that I expressed an interest on Saturday, prior to the dog's assessment, in person. I asked that they call me as they've my number and they said no that I should call them Tuesday morning (fair enough). I tried phoning Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning and nothing! No answer!I can understand your frustration, from what you have said it does seem as if these volunteers need a little training if they are to answer the phone and deal with the public in an efficient maner and if found that they have not got the skills to pick up a phone and be Profesional then they should be left to the dog walking duties and kennel cleaning ect.
