What made your day a crap one??

Happy to hear that, as expected, nothing came out of it that in any way would effect your wife or you. Seems like that company is run by a bunch of cretins that it's best to stay clear of.
Now relax and enjoy the weekend [emoji846]

Oh woe is me woe is me,
This is not what made it a bad day for me, this has been a bad month, and I have no one to blame only myself,

the seeds of this started about 2 or was it 3 years ago, with a small patch on the bedroom ceiling, in a heavy winters storm, the one that flooded Cockermouth, nothing too bad, maybe about the size of a saucer, a spray with stain block and a quick paint sorted it, only it didn't it re appeared about 6 months later, so up into the loft, and the generous use of some rubble bags sorted the problem, well for 12 months it sorted the problem, then it was back, so I promised the wife I would sort it properly, why do women keep reminding you to sort things every six months, I said I would sort it, I don't need no reminding, did I sort it in the summer when the sun is shining and it's lovely and warm outside, no I didn't I waited until October, before ordering all the materials, except this took longer than I expected, and the job of removing the roof replacing the felt and replacing with new tiles, morphed into replacing the felt flat roof at the back, with a rubber membrane, and the flat roof above the dining room, fitting upvc facia's and new guttering, how hard can it be, the answer is bloody hard.

Then when I removed the flat roof, I discovered that there had been some leakage, that had damaged the ply covering, so more repair, and of course this is the northern part of the Lake District, roofing is a young mans game.

Fuzzy, I feel for you - I have some water ingress in my newly-bought, rather old, first house. I have a great aunt who lives in the Lake District (beautiful place, by the way) and the rain can be utterly torrential at times. I'd like to say 'fortunately I live somewhere drier' but Swansea isn't exactly tropical...

Back on topic: It's not been a bad day (thus far) but I can't wait for 2017 to happen. It can't be any worse than the last year-and-a-bit for me... I'll probably divulge down the line when I feel like a rant!

Me telly bost! My nephew came round yesterday afternoon (after seeing Santa, he's 7 years old).
He was playing around with two old dog leads for winches (don't ask). He pulled really hard on them and one flew straight at the TV.
The TV wasn't on at the time so we didn't find out until he left.
Maybe he should ask Santa for a new telly.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Last Monday we had 6" of snow which was wet not the dry, fluffy stuff that is easy to shovel. On Friday we had more snow, but over night it turned to freezing rain so on Saturday morning the temperature plummets and it's a skating rink outside. Sunday is a bright, sunshiny day, which was very welcome, but the precursor to a cold front. Last night the temperature dropped to -13C (-20C with the wind) so the skating rink persists, but SWMBO continued to bug me this morning to clean the hot tub, which is outside, for use on Christmas Day... I hate that bloody hot tub.

Gesticulated for a driver to put the phone down while driving (pet peeve). They turned the car around and proceeded to 'chase me' (I was a distance ahead of them, they put their foot down to catch up), flashing and beeping when they'd caught up. After I pulled over, they stopped in the middle of the road obstructing traffic, wound their window down and hurled abuse/ before getting out of their car and threatening me (they wished to 'have their gloves off' with me). They threw some coins at me/my car before getting back into their vehicle and speeding off.

Fun way to spend my lunch time.

You was lucky you only had coins thrown at you, some people seem to react badly to anybody trying to show them that what they are doing is wrong or even a danger. Did you get the registration number of the car he was driving?

I did indeed. Reported to the police as a non emergency. Even if it's a bit of a warning for him I'll be content.
