What is the best cartridge/disposable razor system of all time?

imo, the "Power" option makes no difference whatsoever to the shave performance of the Fusion 5 range.

Neither do the various glide strips and "micro" this and that comb variations.

I just buy the cheapest genuine Fusion 5 carts i can find and only from a vendor with size or provenance, as i understand there are lots of fakes out there.

Fusion 5 (or a decent cartridge system) has a place in my shaving regime, so i will always keep some sort of cartridge system alongside my DE razors and blades.
I mix up DE shaving with using a cartridge, and found that the power option made no difference at all to the shave. Having tried quite a few cartridge razors I have settled on the Gillette Pro Glide for the smoothest and closest shave. Although, I always feel nostalgic for the first Mach 3.

I find the Lidl / Morrisons twin blade disposables excellent. nice and sharp so smooth shavers with no tugging. not as good as a DE shave but great for travelling with or quick, mild shaves. they last for at least four head shaves for me unlike other disposables that are done after two or three max. they pivot and have a bit of a lube strip.

I've seen identical supermarket branded ones abroad too like in Spain. made in Vietnam so maybe they're made by dorco for various supermarkets? there's only a couple of companies with blade factories in Vietnam.

BIC sensitive single blades didn't work for me. not sharp enough and too tuggy. Mach3 are just ok. haven't tried anything more modern.

I've got some trac ii and Gillette guard to get to trying out but these twin blades are great for something easily obtainable locally. 12p a cartridge is similar to some DE blade so not as extortionate as 5 blades cartridges.

Gillette Good News! The original non-slime strip, non-wobble head, two blade. Used them for many moons. Good clean shaves every day. Shaving soap, shaving cream, bath soap, plain water, nice smooth mug every time! Quality control was a bit iffy: some bellied-up after three days, other times three weeks and counting.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, KAI KII. It is a fixed head two bladed cartridge. I picked on up on a whim a few months ago at a Diaso, (If you are unfamiliar, they are a Japanese discount chain.), and ... Let it be said that, although I have not tried it, a better use might be for potatoes. In fairness, I have had similar results with the KAI DE blades.

A disposable that should come with a warning is one of the Wilkinson Sword two blade products from Germany (full sized, not slim). I picked up a pack when I was Hamburg a couple three years ago, and if I had the touch of a safe-cracker or heart surgeon, I might have gotten a blood-free shave. I passed them on to a friend who got even worse results. I'd like to think it was my technique, but I had mucho years of wet shaving behind me at the time. Definitely too much razor for this little black duck.
I well recall the Gillette Good News.I've switched over to their Sensor 2, I guess because I don't see the Good News anymore.
