What are you reading at the moment?

American Gods by Neil Gaiman. A great story, can hardly put it down.

I'm reading Perdido Street Station by China Mieville. It's pretty mad and very enjoyable. Reminds me a little of Gormenghast in that the city/castle is a character in itself. I had a search to see if anybody had mentioned this book here and Dr Rick has read it. From his post I discovered that it was on the 2002 Hugo shortlist, pipped by American Gods.

I'll give it a go once I've finished Gods. Ta for the recommendation.

Just finished Wings On My Sleeve by Captain Eric 'winkle' Brown, WW2 test pilot.

Now started 'Mike Carter, Uneasy Rider'. His last book of his was great, about him cycling around the UK coastline. This one is about his motorbike journey around mainland Europe.

Finished it and started into the sequel "Red Seas Under Red Skies" - seems ok so far.

I skim some of his descriptive passages but I like his characters.
