I listened to this a little, I quite like it musically but I find the vocals a bit too heavy. Do you like Devin Townsend at all?
He is really growing on me but it takes time to get used to it (which is usually the case with most good music imo). His back catalogue is very varied so it is hard to recommend a starting point. I like the ocean machine album, especially funeral and death of music and the Ki album. Addicted is good too and Deadhead is one of my favourite songs of his - check out the live version on youtube.I'm fairly indifferent to the vocals, but I find myself really drawn to the drumming. I fully appreciate that the more specialised avenues of metal aren't for everyone!
Devin Townsend is a name I've seen a lot from the days of reading Kerrang many years ago, for Strapping Young Lad and he seems to have always kept himself busy with a number of different projects but never really explored any of his back catalogue? Are you a fan? Do you have any recommendations for where to start?
Good album this, thanks. Reminds me of what the Happy Mondays were trying to do, soundwise.
