What are you eating tonight?

This use to annoy an ex girlfriend, but I am sometimes happy just to have a roast in a roll.
Probably from my time in York, and this was something I looked forward to when going to Goodwood racecourse in the 80's.

They do Yorkshire Burritos now ... roast in a Yorkshire (pudding), rolled up:

I spent the day in bed unwell. So 8pm was 8am.

So two Bacon banjos and three cups of Tesco English Breakfast tea. I have run out of sugar, so used Golden syrup as a replacement.

It's strange, I thought I would like Sardines on toast after reading the Lion, the Witch and Wardrobe. But it wasn't for me as a child. Maybe 20 years ago my then girlfriend shoved a fork full of her Sardines on toast starter from an Italian restaurant in my mouth and I enjoyed it. Sadly, I haven't had the guts to order it again. And those Cornish Sardines look great fresh. Amazing what giving a new name to Pilchards has.

Homemade Vindaloo Curry made with a spice mix from a fantastic new to me company called The Twisted Curry Co. Based in Wetwang. They provide a spice mix beautifully packaged complete with a full, easy to follow recipe. Simply do what it says exactly and I can guarantee you will be absolutely delighted with the results. They tell you all the other ingredients needed which is mainly simple stuff like Chopped tinned Tomato, Onion Puree ( simple to make, simmer onions in water for 15 mins then drain and puree ) Ginger/Garlic paste easily available in jars, Tomato puree and your choice of meat or veg or both. The delivery is speedy and they really are a great company. They do everything from a Korma to a Naga Phall mix. Cannot recommend them highly enough if you like a really authentic Ruby. I had a Doner this aft ... but there's always room for more.

I like those rosemary and garlic flatbreads from Sainsbury, over which I put a guacamole (of sorts) made from an avocado and some ranch dressing. Sliced peppers, some home-made barbeque style sauce (Maggi, Hendersons, ketchup, black pepper and garlic powder) and then a tilapia fillet fried off in good butter.

Lovely!

Hi Paul,
Never tried Tilapia, as though farmed in Pacific Islands when I was stationed out there - fresh fish from the sea was preferred.
How does it compare with the usual species we are used to in UK.
