Marco Pierre White style. Cook the meat with onion, carrots, wine and stock. Last hour, drop in the mushrooms, vinegar soaked pearl onions and bacon. Wine was Roc de Lussac.

We had half last night with chunky chips, tonight with mash and green veg.

... and press buttons. Could you be arsed? Urgh! Nah, we're at odds on this one ... I don't have a coffee maker (any more, used to have a Gaggia) and never had a microwave oven. I had a slow-cooker once. That's what this is, right? Nah! I used it once and reboxed it. What a faff! Food processor? No thanks, I have a knife. I do have a stick blender, but it's not a gateway drug ... I still hand whisk.
