Lol, El cheapo Fundador Solera brandy from the hip flask for me just to top off the Goose Island IPA.

Is quite good for Christmas, not terribly nuanced or anything, but quite pleasant. This is what they say, seems fitting for the season:

Palate: Thick, creamy palate with Christmas pudding, vanilla custard, baked apples and spice. Finish: Medium finish with lingering apricot and spice. Overall: A medium-bodied, spicy brandy from Spain.
 
Home brewed lager that has been lagered, ie stuck in a cold place for ages this has been 3 months after a 3 week ferment.
It's quite good but not worth the wait when I can make a cracking ipa in a month. So that's 3 times as much beer. A result in anyone's book.
